What are my chances, especially if I believe my grades will improve and senior year I’m taking 6 AP courses? My GPA will almost certainly increase a few points.

Reach. GPA and SAT are just too low for Ross PA.

Would it be beneficial to send only my ACT score in; for example, if I score higher on the ACT than my previous attempt, will it increase my chances any? If so, what would a target score be? How does Michigan weigh each part of my application? Is there anything in particular that is “worth” more than the other? I have been told Michigan is a score-driven school and that making a higher ACT would significantly offset my lower GPA.

[ *] Other Factors/questions: I’ve heard that admissions personnel look at you in respect to your environment, so hopefully my school’s lack of APs and other things won’t count against me too much.

Tennismaestro32, no, a high ACT will not “offset” a low GPA. A low GPA will single handedly kill your chances at Michigan (and Ross). A high ACT will help, though. You’re definitely a reach for Ross. For LSA you have a decent chance, but it depends on how rigorous your high school is. If UMich knows your high school as particularly rigorous, you may be given leeway for having a lower GPA. Check your school’s naviance or ask your guidance counselor.

Dag712 - I think you’ll be accepted. Good chances.

falconzfan4ever - match

Thanks for the reassurance, Pat. The stellar stats of the other people applying were really starting to shake me
