Have you ever had a question or problem that didn’t really require a big, long dialogue? Why not ask it here for a quick reply. Once a poster gets an answer, we can move on to the next to the next question!

I’ll start. My D applied for a job that sounds perfect for her. She got an email from what she thinks is an independent hiring agent. The email thanked her for her application and told her that an employee of the company will contact her if she is to be granted an interview. Should she email the person in the company that would be her boss (she did her research) and tell him that she is very interested in the job and so on? It has been about a week since she got the email response.

I see nothing wrong with a note of enthusiasm that thanks them for considering her application and maybe telling them what attributes she would bring to the company. Good luck to your daughter!

I have a random question. We are flying on United taking our 3 year old grandson. We plan to check the carseat. Any advise on how to package it up? And United says that a stroller or a carseat can go free and not be included with your baggage allowance. We have 3 ticketed passengers; so does that mean we can take both items free?

I don’t know what United does specifically, but I’ve seen a LOT of strollers gate checked when the passengers get on the plane. That way, the family has the stroller in the airport. You might want to see if you can do this. The car seats I’ve seen just have a luggage tag tied to them.

Why does my cat meow everyday at 615 am outside our bedroom door after she eats at 6am (auto feeder) and 15 minutes before out alarm clock goes off?

Onward, I think if you have three ticketed passengers you would be able to check both of those without a fee.

I have another question.

Remember the cruise ship that was stranded in the Gulf of Mexico? Why didn’t they just bring another empty cruise ship out to it and evacuate the passengers to the new ship?

Where would Carnival have gotten an empty cruise ship? It’s not like there’s an inventory of empty cruise ships just sitting around. Even if there was, the process of transferring passengers on the open sea would be too dangerous.

My D just (college student, parks her car at her boyfriends house which is a down the block from her sorority house, where she resides). Someone stole both exterior rear view mirrors from her car. I fear that when she replaces them, they will get stolen again. She suspects the kids that live in the house next to her boyfriend’s house. Any ideas about ways to prevent this?

It is always something with this kid!

Edit to ad that she can’t park her car elsewhere because she doesn’t have and cannot get a campus parking sticker at this point.
