That is a really good idea! I will float it by the siblings.
He has grandkids, so imagine he gets lots of pictures.
I love mine!
Wife said the GC to restaurant would be really nice option so we went with that.
I feel like I’m full of random questions today…
My H has a lot of sinus/headache issues. He’s done the rounds with different docs and has better times of the year and worse times of the year. He uses the Navage system pretty much daily. When he has a “bout” he will feel a little off balance, get a headache and feel like his head wants to explode (his words!). We have noticed some trends of feeling this way when the barometric pressure drops - like right before a big storm or weather change.
Last night I was thinking - would an air purifier perhaps be a helpful thing? I suppose it can’t hurt. If you have one, what type of changes did you note in you or your family’s health? Do you have one or more than one? Any recommendations for one that is not obnoxious looking (sorry, I’m vain about my decor) but quietly exists?
This one is a planter! Bloom™ Air Purifier. HEPA-13 Air Filtration With Integrated Planter. - dupray.com
That’s pretty cool! I’m not THAT picky but would prefer to have something a little more streamlined than obviously looking like a big piece of machinery!
I can screen out anything that I’m picky about - but I’d love to see what people use!
We don’t have an air purifier. But we do have a fancy air filter system built into the furnace. It use an expensive, big, fanfolded filter. Which reminds me - we should check to see if it needs replacing (I keep date log at the furnace).
We have several Winix purifiers we purchased because of the wildfire smoke a few years ago. Amazingly quiet and filter smoke particulate very efficiently. We could smell the difference! I run one constantly in our bedroom all the time (night mode), and my husband says that helps with his allergies to pollen. Winix units have a small light indicator of air quality that changes color depending on how much crud is in the air. We got ours at Costco and from Amazon. I highly recommend these purifiers.
This is similar to the model we have. Now comes in many colors! Ours is white which was the only choice at that time. It is not huge and sits in a corner quietly and almost invisibly.

My kids have ones from levoit. They are rectangular, but small and not unattractive Find Your Ideal Air Purifier: Clear Air Solutions – Levoit
ETA: you need to make sure the air purifier is properly sized for the space. Most makers disclose that information at the top of the specs (square feet covered).
We have the 4" - 5" thick media filter systems as part of our HVAC system, and they do help. What’s even more helpful is a whole-house dehumidifier system (ours also brings in filtered fresh air) that’s also attached to the HVAC systems so we can prevent the indoor humidity from getting too high as we live in a humid area. I tend to have sinus headaches, and react to some pollens, but with these systems I now have far fewer headaches.
When we were in our temporary home, I used a 28" GermGuardian tower air filter in our bedroom and the nursery. They came in both white and charcoal grey and didn’t take up much space. Because it was a new house I had to clean the pre-filter often and replaced the main filter every 3 months instead of 6 - 9 months.
Yes, I have paid attention to that in my search which is now about 12 hours old, lol.
Eventually we may be replacing our HVAC system and be looking at these type of add-ons…but (knock on wood) we aren’t at that point yet.
We have Rabbit Air air cleaners—so quiet I can’t tell they are on. We keep one in our bedroom and the other in the living room. We also have a dyson fan that triples as an air cleaner and a heater.
Our kids bought us the air cleaners when the volcano erupted and they were worried about us. Our ductless A/C from Mitsubishi also has filters that help remove “stuff” from our indoor air.
This is the air cleaner we have.
We just put a new system in, and in addition to the 4" fan filter, we got an ultraviolet light purifier that kills anything that might want to grow on the condenser coils in the air handler.
These lights can often be retrofitted to your current system, depending on what you have.
I have been happy with Levoit air filters. They are streamlined.

I also get headaches when barometric pressure changes (can turn into wicked migraine). Same for friends/co-workers who have tendency to migraines. Overcast days are usually the worst.
I’ve found prescription Nurtec is amazing for stopping those debilitating headaches in their tracks.
So how does one dress for a Billy Joel/Sting concert? Our Realtor bought tickets months ago for the concert next Saturday and just learned that she has to be out of town so offered them to us for under cost. Luckily I bought a great clear purse for the Rose Bowl so it will come in handy.
You’ll be happy to know you get to wear whatever floats your boat. I don’t recommend heels unless that’s something you do on a regular basis. Me? Jeans, t-shirt, sneakers and a hoodie! And I’m a female, 65 yo. Have fun!
I was pretty much kidding but as a 72 year old, that is close to what I usually wear! Cotton shirt and nylon jacket, but jeans and sneakers for sure. And possibly ear plugs…we’ll be in row 12 near first base at Petco. Last time I wore heels was my nephew’s wedding last June.
I always wear earplugs! I find I can actually hear the music better with them!
Is there any possibility that your husband may be experiencing migraine headaches? For some who do, barometric pressure changes can be a trigger. Years ago, I read somewhere that some percentage of presumed sinus headaches were actually undiagnosed migraines. I hope things improve for him.
