<p>Does anything done during that summer count as high school?</p>

<p>Um, I took alg. 2 H before high school and got credit for it. If you mean volunteering, I think it depends on either the county or state.</p>

<p>^Yea it does. Like at my school, you can start volunteering over the summer after some time in July if you want those hours to go towards the next school year. There is a set date for when the new school year technically starts.</p>

<p>It really depends on the district though. The volunteer work I did the summer before 9th didn’t count for anything.</p>

<p>I studied abroad and got my Spanish 3 credit that summer.</p>

<p>Edit: But my mom is the Spanish teacher, so she was able to oversee and approve the independent study credit.</p>

<p>My school could care less what you do in the summer, so… what do I do? I volunteered the summer before 9th grade, so…</p>
