She’s only 5’3"! Amazing match. Sorry to see Azarenka go, which surprises me a little, because she’s never been one of my favorites, but I’m starting to think she’s just a big dork and I like her better.

Yup, she’s a wee one. I’m 5’1" so I know how hard it is to be able to hang in against big babe tennis without being overpowered. Need to be very, very speedy around the court.
I’m sure Vika is very disappointed but after last year this was a pretty good start for her.

I find Muguruza’s pale pink (peach?) outfit so refreshing compared to all the shocking pink and yellow. Sad to see Azarenka go, but agree it is a good start.

I fell asleep right after that match so a lot of catching up to do today. .
All caught up. Good win for Stan since he’s not playing his best and is carrying an injury. He’ll lose to Kei next round though. Kei/Pics was NID. Djoker/Muller also NID. Lopez choked away his match but he was living on borrowed time anyway. Raonic is dull as dishwater.
The Maddy’s match was NID, either, and pretty much a yawner.
Aga/Venus was at least entertaining but Aga lost the plot badly in the 3rd set and Venus was too good.
They didn’t show the Madisonx2 match here, eb - how do you think the Venus/Madison match will go?

I have no idea who is going to win. Venus is her idol and it’s her first slam quarter. If she’s overwhelmed or nervous it will be Venus. If she’s not, I think it will be very tight match with the edge going to Keys.

^ Madison plays big babe tennis. Has the one-two punch of big serve/ big forehand. A lot like Kvitova except Madison is a righty. When she is on she’s great but she can make a boatload of errors when she is off. I don’t know if she has a plan B, either. She’s a pretty good mover, too, better the PK, imo.
Is she the one Lindsay Davenport is coaching? Not getting much scoop on the Americans here - all Nick Kgyrios, all the time (I guess I should learn to spell his name?). I was a little sad to see Venus letting balls bounce that in past years she would have pounced on, but I am so happy to see her getting far into a tournament.
Oh, and the annoying British commentator is named Sam, not Sue. I never seem to catch her full name, and I can’t seem to remember it.
