So thrilled to see Tsonga go through to the semis. I think he was the first players I saw play the first time I went to Wimbledon. Always remember that huge smile and the dance he did when he won. He’s been a favorite ever since. Would love to see him pull a huge upset and win the French Open.

Caught bits and bob’s of Fed/Stan on FOTonight. Looks like GoatStan showed up. Fed didn’t really play that badly from what I saw. And there was that horrid call Nouni made in the 3rd set TB - not that it probably would have changed the outcome but still point should have been replayed. I wonder if Fed will pull a poutfest and request Nouni not to be assigned to officiate his matches like Rafa did with Bernardes? Somehow I doubt that.
If GoatStan shows up in the final I think has the best chance tof any of the men left to beat Djoker. He can be a beast.
If Nole can pull off consecutive wins off of Nadal and then assumedly Murray, I’m thinking the final could be a nice five sets. However, I honestly don’t see Stan or Jo pulling the upset.
So many huge games going forward. It is anybody’s tournament. Murray vs Ferrer could go either way, as could Djokovic vs Nadal. I think the emotional and physical toll that the Djokovic vs Nadal game could have on the winner could doom him in the Semi Final match. That being said, I think the winner of the FO will come from that half of the bracket.
The bottom half have two days off before the semi. That should help Jo-Willy recover from his match yesterday. If Djoke/Rafa goes long only one day off to recover. When Stan is goating he can be unstoppable (see AO 2014.) I think I heard Stan won 90 something percent of his first serve points yesterday versus only 67% for Roger.
Should be a fun couple of days.
Meh. No surprise in today’s outcomes but I was hoping for a closer match between Nole and Rafa. Along with everyone else I guess. I hope Djokovic wipes the floor with Andy.
Pretty much what I expected having seen Rafa lose badly to VB in Madrid and Stan in Rome. His whole game has been based on his physicality and outlasting his opponents and that is gone now. We always knew that eventually the way he plays would catch up to him. I see him playing only one or two more years at most. He might even be out of the top 10 next Monday. Even Roger didn’t fall that far in his bad year.
I can’t stomach either Djoker or VB. But I will be surprised if VB wins. Now that Djok took care of Rafa for me - it’s all about the bottom half.

@tx5athome, Timea had a bunch of break points in one game (forget which one now) in 2nd set and when she didn’t convert and Serena held that was it. You knew SW was going to win and the contest was over. Of course, S, being “deathly ill,” had excuse ready if other girl held her nerve and didn’t crumble.
And well done Stan. Relatively easy day at the office except for that one blip in the 2nd.

Yeah, they pulled them off before it even started raining. Comms said likely so neither player would have a lead going into tomorrow.
He should have won in 3. And then once he lost that set took a v lengthy bathroom/MTO break (like 10 minutes!) This is like the 3rd time he has done it in GS semi/final matches after losing a set. It’s no wonder the guy has no fans.
I’m not a VB fan but I hope he wins and wipes that smug grin off of Djofaker’s face.
