Shame on me for forgetting Wimbledon was on this morning. Went to lunch with a friend and got to watch most of the Chardy v. Berdych match- it looks like there’s been some great 1st round matches so far!
I hope Madison Keys can pull off the win. I used to have to leave the room when watching Lindsey Davenport, her coach, and I did the same today after she lost the first set. Was happy to come home to find she had regrouped to win the second set, but who knows how that third set will finish with a 2-2 score. Fingers crossed!

Yes. Nadal is sinking. I know Nadal hasn’t been playing well at Wimbledon for years. There is a downward slope pattern with his play. He is not the best ever and he had a shot at that title.
Personally, I don’t think Rafa ever was going to be the GOAT. Greatest clay court player I will give him. But eventually the way he played was going to catch up to him and his body was going to break down - putting eclipsing Goaterer a pipe dream of only his fans.

It was a very entertaining match. I like to see the unexpected plays Brown used rather than endless rallies from the baseline.

Dreddy is very fun to watch. I saw him last year at the Open playing Tomic. Since both are quite unorthodox if was quite enjoyable. Bernie did get the best of him unfortunately, and then he withdraw before his next match. I hate when that happens.

Brown played a very smart match. He never allowed Nadal to find any rhythm, coming in all the time, and mixing in all those dropshots…That is brutal for a grinder like Nadal who depends on getting into a long war of attrition with his opponents. I thought Brown would get tight in the fourth set, but it was Nadal that made a couple of relatively unforced errors at crucial moments late in the match. It will be interesting to see if he comes down to earth against Troicki.
I’m hoping Coco Vandeweghe can beat Stosur tomorrow, and also hoping Venus can come through. It’s a real shame she will likely play her sister if she advances. That’s never fun to watch.
It must be a fantastic feeling to know you can go down 3-0 in a final set and win it. Then win it.
