What a fantastic match from Gasquet! I was rooting for him for its entirety but honestly expected Wawrinka to pull through there. I’m not expecting much from him in the semis- Djoker looked unbeatable in some moments vs. Cilic, and he ran a marathon today. But the Fed Murray match will undoubtedly be great to watch, as both are playing quite well.

We had 2 suspensions of play due to rain during the Federer game so got to see the proces s of them covering the courts which was fun to see (though Once would have been enough).It was absolutely freezing in court 1- we were under the round overhang and the wind was just whistling through there. Luckily we had thought we might need a sweater in the evening and, of course, had brought rain jackets. The Wawrinka Gasquet game was just awesome. Beautiful tennis and lots of oohs and says. A wonderful day until we were on the tram going home when my brother got a phone call that our Mum had just died.

Serena just played great today.
So glad Serena won today, I am so over the announcers dogging her out at every chance. I dont know what else she has to do to prove herself.
I thought the match was “meh.” Was NID from the first game. Serena played ok, Maria was horrid. Match wasn’t even as close as the score indicated. 
The first semi though was terrific. Lots of great points by both players. But that challenge by Aga in last game on penultimate point was :-t
Well deserved win for Mugu! Congrats to her making first GS Final. I’ll be vamosing on Saturday.
As for the men - very happy for Gasquet and for once he didn’t choke - though it was dicey there in the 5th a few times. Great match from both guys.

Ladies final was the usual mess.

The Serena match like most of her matches lacks drama and for that reason isn’t very much fun to watch. She just bludgeons her opponent with her serve and ground strokes. The outcome is a foregone conclusion. Yes, she’s the best of the current field, but having a player so far above the rest of the field is not a good thing for women’s tennis as far as the fans are concerned.
Now tomorrow’s match could go either way. It will likely go 5 sets. It will have the drama of two very evenly matched skilled players. It will be great watching it.
I was happy to see Serena win. My wish would be Roger in 3 for tomorrow.
