The Twilight Zone

If you liked this series the Sy Fy network is showing reruns of the show until 6 AM tomorrow.

Yes, I did. Thanks!

Also, it goes without saying that this whole college process is like an episode of The Twilight Zone.

;)

I keep an eye on the marathon every year waiting for my favorite episodes: “Time Enough at Last”, which to me, a seriously myopic bookworm, is the ultimate in horror, and “Little Girl Lost”, which looks rather lame now, particularly in light of the Simpsons spoof of it, but which scared the holy cr*p out of me as a kid and kept me from reaching under the bed for years. Your favorites?

I just happened to turn through the channels and catch “My name is Talking Tina…”. Man, that doll scared the heck out of me as a little girl.

“Time Enough at Last”
“A Stop at Willoughby”
“The After Hours” (mannequins episode)

TZ had some of the most imaginative TV writing ever. Even though it’s been many years I still prefer it over most of the crap that currently runs on TV and cable.

Thanks for the episode recommendations.
I’ll look out for them next time.

I DVRed and finally got to watch “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet.”

Shatner btw was very good.

20,000 feet was also featured in the Twilight Zone movie. Darn if I can remember the names of the episodes, but the plots are unforgettable.

It should be easy to find the name of an episode if you just google a key word of the plot + twilight zone.
There are lots of lists out there of what people feel are the best episodes. One list is the top 10 from Time Magazine. Some of the ones already mentioned here are on that list:
“Living Doll”
“Walking Distance”
“It’s a Good Life”
“The Monsters are Due on Maple Street”
“The Hitch Hiker”
“Nightmare at 20,000 Feet”
“The Invaders”
“To Serve Man”
“The Eye of the Beholder”
“Time Enough at Last”

Which is the episode about getting sent to the cornfield? That one freaks me out.

And, “Room for one more, honey…”

cornfield episode-“It’s a Good Life”
room for one more, honey episode- “Twenty Two”

I love The Twilight Zone, and grew up watching the marathons with some regularity. “Time Enough at Last,” “The Eye of the Beholder,” and “To Serve Man” are some of my personal favorites. Also “A Nice Place to Visit.” (“This is the other place!”)

My grandmother once had lunch with Rod Serling and she said he was a very strange man. Living where I do many people have stories about him.
