I have just sent one (not to Lawrenceville). I guess it is better to send than not to send.
I got off at Lawrenceville!
Yes GoBoars! ( Choate )
I wouldnât think so because though I had a similar message and ended up not taking it I thinks its pool based im assuming the go replier may be a girl boarder and if she is were the exact same pool
What day did you get called off?
Congratulations!!!
Yesterday
What school did you end up choosing?
Emma Willard School. I hope they will let me get off the waitlist ![]()

My daughter received an email from the Loomis AO that there is no movement on the waitlist. The AO said to âcheck back in the coming monthsâ. Weâre proceeding with her enrollment in BS at TASIS in Switzerland.
Congrats for TASIS! Was your daughter applying as a Boarding or Day student at Loomis?
Received email from Deerfield that they have closed their waitlist. We appreciate your continued interest in enrolling at Deerfield for the Fall of 2025. After careful consideration of our enrollment for the incoming class, we will not be admitting any additional students from the waitlist this year and have decided to officially close the waitlist. We truly appreciate your patience throughout this process.
On behalf of the entire DA admission team, I send along our best wishes.
anything from peddie ??
Yes, 9th grading boarding.
Interesting. My daughter also applied for Loomis 9th grade boarding and we have not heard from our AO that they are not going to the waitlist. Maybe because we chose Priority waitlist not their regular waitlist?
Guys how do you think is there still a chance of being accepted off the waitlist? It has been two weeks after the April 10th. Some of my schools have not sent anything yet
Movement past this time is unlikely other than some small chance of âsummer slide.â
Where are you accepted at this point? What do your plans for next year look like? I would encourage you to focus on this, rather than a very-long-shot wait list.
No one here can tell you for sure.
In the past we have seen whatâs called âsummer melt,â especially around the time the first tuition payment is due. This year we may also see some melt when more international students than usual are unable to get their visas.
There are 3 ways Iâve seen personally students use to get off waitlists.
âconvert from FA to full pay
âreclass down (most schools admit more to 9th grade than 10th, so a student who originally applied and was denied for 10th asked if they could be admitted to 9th)
âconvert from day to boarding (this works when a school is full for day students but has a slot or two for boarders)
None of these ideas will work for most students, but hopefully worth mentioning for someone.
I havenât heard anything from the school I was waitlisted at. Would it be worth it to call and ask if I could change things like boarding to day? I donât wanna have to reapply next year but it looks like I might have to.
It certainly wouldnât hurt to call your AO, tell them you would really like to attend, and are flexible in terms of switching from day to boarding (or vice versa) if that would make a difference.
