does getting a request to further submit financial aid documents mean anything, or is it just a formality?
Nobody can know.
My sense, though, is that many BS want to maintain and be prepared with their WL as there are some big macro trends/uncertainties that could impact student ability to attend and/or pay. Should a number of students back out for financial reasons, inability to get visas, or concerns about being in the US (to name a few), students on the extended WL and those who have not been told the list is closed could perhaps be offered admission.
And because a student who backs out of school A might be replaced with a student who planned to attend school B, the chain reaction can impact a number of schools and students.
So it is a good sign that the school is willing to consider you if they have spots. When/if that happens is anyone’s guess.
thankyou, does it change anything if I’m an international student though?
No. It simply means they are preparing themselves in the event enrolled international students change their mind.
I think so. At least if they are any movement, you are definitely in the run.
blair says they will use their waitlist throughout the spring term but never got back to me
does not hearing back from schools now mean that they have closed the waitlist and aren’t looking anymore?
Some schools tell everyone when they are done. Others are more old-school and do not.
Is there any chance of me getting off a waitlist now or is it too late.
It is unlikely but possible. Some schools could have a few spaces when the first enrollment payment is due.
So there’s a thing referred to as ‘melt’ which takes place over the summer of course. Sometimes “life happens” for people and they withdraw from a BS even if they’ve already committed and paid the non-refundable deposit. It’s not a big thing, but it’s a thing. If a kid who melts has a similar profile to yours (e.g. male, full pay, out of state, maybe an even narrower bucket like athlete or musician) then it’s possible.
Not likely though.
Anyone get an email about NMH waitlist? Asked if we were still interested in remaining on waitlist.
Yes. I just got it yesterday.
I wrote that we would be on the waitlist until the end of July. My daughter got into another school but NMH is her first choice.
We got the email today that Exeter’s waitlist is officially closed.
No problem here ![]()
congratts I have question do you know how likely you are to get off the waitlist as I just want to know the chances .
Hello!
The Whole Process is a closed curtain process, so you really don’t have any idea about your chances off the waitlist.
I hope I answered your question!
Hello thank you. Sorry, I was busy with school as it’s finals.Do you know any schools that have a friendly environment, as most have the snobish rich school persona
I apologize for the late reply,
I believe that the “friendly environment/ snobbish rich school persona” is a stereotype that is often boxed onto private schools. Different schools within themselves present with different demographic data that changes from year to year.
It’s also up to your interpretation from reading about reviews and going on tours to make that final decision if the school is up to your liking or not.
There will be snobbish kids and adults and friendly kids and adults everywhere.
This question would be better phased a different way!
Take care.
Its okay and thank you for the suggeestion and response i am international so i probally cant view them all so i might just do virtual.thanks
