Wait guys, do I send the letter to my interviewer or Admissions office
if you think you have good contact / relation with your interviewer send it to them, if not, office works
Hi! I was waitlisted from Cate School and Loomis Chaffee and was wondering what the waitlist acceptance rate is for each? I don’t have high expectations but would just like to know a general average of how many (if any) students are accepted via waitlist each year. FYI I am also an international student.
This thread will help answer your waitlist questions.
some people talk about calling the admissions office in like april but I was wondering what do you even tell them ![]()
It depends on your situation. If you call around A10 and you have no other options, you can call to find out if they expect to go to their WL, and if so, you can let them know that you are willing to commit to the first school that makes you an offer. If you have something lined up and are willing to give up your deposit for that school, let them know that as well.
Remember that the job of the admissions office is to ensure full enrollment in September within parameters set by the school (i.e., boys/girls, FA limit, boarding/day, domestic/international etc.) To the extent that you can help them fill any gaps - by committing quickly – that can help. Remember too that you may not have the profile of what they need, so don’t take any of this personally.
heyy A10 is coming up and i was just curious did anyone get some updates regarding acceptance from waitlist? or was there any move on the waitlist? cause i didn’t get any

No not yet
I got emails back from my AOs tho from my LOCIs
Also since A10 is coming up should I email another LOCI or not?
Unless schools are sure that they are going to miss on yield AND if they are confident of what they are missing, they are unlikely to go to the WL much before A10. They definitely will want to wait until admitted student events have happened. Put differently, they need admitted students to say yes or no. At this point, there are still a lot of familiar deciding.
Remember that unlike colleges, which may be able to put up overflow students in additional off-campus housing, BS cannot over-enroll. That means that they need to manage their enrollment with a pretty high degree of precision.
Idk but I think I might call on like the 8th
wl warrior from years past (2024), for an idea of the timeline i got a call w/ update on april 3rd saying that they had a spot for me
I think what @gardenstategal is saying is they won’t know anything until after April 10th so I wouldn’t think calling them after you already sent your LOCI will be fruitful. Unfortunately there’s not much more you can do but wait. Hang in there.
Seconding this.
And adding that when a school started going to the WL in last years does not mean that it will go to the WL on the same date this year. And just because school x went to the WL early doesn’t mean that every other school will follow.
Finally, if you sent in one LOCI, you’re done. Don’t write. Don’t call. Unless you won an Academy Award in the last couple of weeks, there’s nothing meaningful to update. And even if you did win an Oscar, they read the news. More isn’t better in this case
mayb i’ll do that too
thank you!
By which school? To get an update that early would be the dream

Hi, has anyone heard from the waitlisted schools?
Also does anyone have exprience of getting admitted from Choate waitlist? Cause I went through past few years worth of comments/thread and didn’t see much about choate waitlist acceptance compared to other schools like andover and deerfield
