Wow, tonight really surprised me. I truly thought they were going to kill him off! I’m happy he’s still alive somewhere out there, although we won’t see him again. So many questions! What’s going on with the helicopters, who are they?
What’s an A, what’s a B?
Judith bad-ass Grimes! I really thought that after this episode I wouldn’t want to watch anymore, as Andrew Lincoln was the heart of the show. I’ll keep watching until the end of the Season, but will be interested in seeing how I feel then.
I loved seeing all the dead friends, would have loved to see Glenn and others.
Guess what!? I just read some online reviews and he’s signed up to do 3 Walking Dead movies! He really is quitting the Walking Dead series as he wants to move back home FT now that his kids are older and it’s harder to move them over here 6 months out of the year. I don’t blame him.
I’ve been disappointed the last couple of seasons, but I really liked this episode. I thought it was fantastic! I just wonder how much longer they can keep it going.
So, what did you think of the first one without Rick? I actually enjoyed the time jump, and their physical changes and relationships. I think that was a great idea. I love that Carol is still such a badass! I liked the newbies that were introduced. I thought it was telling how much Rick really meant to all of them…Darrell seems to be on his own now, Michonne still talking to him. Even Eugene is different. And whoa…that exchange between Negan and The daughter. He almost seemed like a new person…but probably not.
So far, I think this has been the best season since Season 5. Any guesses on what happened to Maggie and Hiltop? According to the internet, Lauren Cohen won’t be appearing in any more episodes this season.
@conmoma Go back and watch the end (at about 1:19 on my recording - one hour, 19 minutes) when Eugene and Rosita are lying in the mud. Turn your TV up and listen! I had to rewind it a few times to make sure I was hearing it correctly!
I’m still watching and enjoying this season. I won’t miss Rick at all, to be honest. The six year jump is interesting but Rick and Michonne’s son doesn’t look old enough. I imagine that we will learn what things have happened in the interim. Clearly, some not good things have happened, with the communities not seeming to have reached the harmonious relationships that Rick hoped would happen.
I enjoyed this episode, but Carol’s hair made me sad. I’m so envious of women who look great in very short hair, and Carol was certainly in that category. Now she looks way older than the actress really is (53). Although I do realize fighting zombies for years can take its toll on a gal.
I liked this episode and the newcomer’s, too. I think they are doing a good job so far without Rick. I do like how they reference him. I’ve always enjoyed the fondness and closeness of Carol and Darrel. I thought it was so sweet of Michonne to take care of their loved one that was a zombie, not in a violent way. Can’t wait to find out what went wrong with her and Maggie.
There are some interesting behind-the-scenes videos on TWD website. This week’s episode was directed by Michael Cudlitz (Abraham). Nice to see him! The last one before the mid-season break is on this coming Sunday.
So what did you think of the midseason finale? I thought it was pretty good. I like the Whisperers - they are kind of creepy in a good way.
I’ve been over Negan for a long time, so the fact that he escaped was ho-hum for me. Michonne’s sour attitude seems a little forced. I wish they’d just tell us what’s going on there.
Is the character of Maggie gone for good? I hope the show answers these questions early in the next season.
I liked it, too, and agree with the comments you’ve made. The Whisperers add a new twist to the show! Michonne has been very annoying so far this season. I have no idea what the deal is but they are dragging out any explanation for far too long. Too many questions/answers not even hinted at resolution halfway through the season.
