<p>What about Shylock from Merchant of Venice, will they be like…um, you are too young?</p>
<p>I’m used to playing older characters, so I have no idea what’s wrong with it.</p>

<p>I think the problem is that the departments you are auditioning for want to see how you handle a role that you can realistically play. With the competitiveness of entrance into theatre programs I would recommend staying with age-appropriate material.</p>
