Theatre/Stats Major

I was wondering if double majoring in theatre/statistics would be a good idea. I love my theatre classes and I know I want to major in it, but I also know I won’t be pursuing a career in theatre when I graduate. Hence the reason for a double major. Would statistics be an employable major?

I don’t think this is the right area to ask about employment prospects for statistics degrees!

But my thought is that if you don’t want to make theatre your career, why go to the trouble of getting a degree in theatre? It sounds like theatre is a hobby of yours, which is great. But you don’t need a degree to have a hobby. You don’t need a major or a degree to take theatre classes, lots of people take classes in the area of their hobby.

If you are planning to have a career in statistics, then get your degree in statistics. There will be room for “electives” in your class schedule, which you can fill with hobby stuff like theatre.
