My mom and sis are coming for my graduation, so I’d like to know what kind of things we can do in two days. They’re here on Saturday and Sunday (graduation day), checking out early on Monday. I know there are threads on great restaurants but I’d like to know where to take them to eat for an amazing experience (e.g. Himalayan Fusion). Also what other things can they do while they’re here for such a short time?

We were in Charlottesville last month (and headed there again this week for D’s graduation also). We had the time for some wine tasting around the area - really enjoyed it. King family and Veritas wineries both have such beautiful settings. At Veritas, we got a cheese/fruit plate and sat outside in the sunshine with our wine… It made for a great memory.
Of course, liking wine and being over 21 is a prereq…
Have fun and congrats!

Monticello is a great place for a short or long visit. For a short visit, just do the house tour. For a longer visit, tour the grounds and take a walk on some of the trails.

Ashlawn, Monroe’s summer home, is close to Monticello and they also have house tours.

If they are coming from the north, they could stop at Montpelier on their way in.

Every Friday at 5:30 PM, there are free [“Fridays After Five”](<a href=“http://www.charlottesvillepavilion.com/fridaysafterfive/]"Fridays”>http://www.charlottesvillepavilion.com/fridaysafterfive/) concerts at the Pavilion. The Kings of Belmont are playing next Friday, but plenty of people go just to be outside and shop or eat.

If they are outdoorsy, there is great hiking around here, but I won’t go on and on about that unless you want me to do so.

The vineyards are a huge attraction in the area, but if your sister isn’t of age, that might be quite boring for her. If she is of age, King Family Vineyard is a great place to take a picnic. They have polo on Sunday afternoons, which is a lot of fun.
