well ga2012mom, some programs require an sat of 7th graders to help judge acceptance into some of their programs for talented kids. i forget the name but johns hopkins has one, and you need to take the sat before applying. and choklitrain, i was being kind of sarcastic/ironic when i said that, but that was very informative and a good way to describe it

jayay: not defending, just stating. i’d be happy to take up your argument from 295 if you wanna keep at it

crimsonchic, D took the SAT in 7th grade as part of the Duke TIP program, but she studied for it for 1 week before she took it. Did okay, not great. Studied 2 weeks for ACT, did much better.

I was just referring to several of her friends whose parents have MADE them study and take courses since 7th grade. My D is a human, I don’t want to treat her as a machine. Different strokes for different folks. BTW, my D’s score was better than “those” friends.

wanna supply some numbers? idk what a usual 7th grader score is, but i heard 1700+ is pretty good for them, the act is also a much different test, and i know asians who went to like 6 week long sat camps and only scored around 2000, you can prepare up to a point, but’s pretty useless after that, and it’s tough slogging through the upper echelons of scores

lol crimsonchin68, so what are your thoughts on yaoi?

Yes, I should go through and read through this entire thread to try “to understand what is going on.” Because, it’s so useful, you know?

I just reply to things I want to comment on. That’s the purpose of internet forum threads.

Since CC is so wonderful, I don’t even know what of yours I commented on.

Great for her. I managed to get into the 98th percentile of the ACT without studying at all.

Chaosakita: You should comment when you have something to contribute. Like a point or something. Just randomly commenting on things with sarcasm, etc. just makes the thread confusing and adds unneccesary strife.
OH and that’s great for you and your grand ACT score. I don’t think GAmom was bragging, unlike you. She was trying to prove a point. See, the whole nagging ‘point’ idea comes up again…

This thread has gotten so crazy. I had a lot of ideas for replies, reading through the last two pages, but now I just don’t know what to say.

chaosakita, congrats on your 31 ACT. (98th percentile)

Sorry to all for being so sarcastic an unbecoming of a mom o this thread, but it gets to a point where I am disgusted. Enough said.

yo 31’s a fine score and all, but i wouldn’t exactly write home about it. i would love to tell you my thoughts on yaoi, if i knew what it was

^^^^
That was my point. Don’t flaunt with a 31 on cc. Obviously overachievers here.

i know gamom, but i was addressing chaosakita

lol, so was I.

i personally wouldn’t flaunt less than a 2250 or 34

who cares. Can we please get back on topic, seeing as this is getting no where?

Continue this convo somewhere else if you have to, like the race thread.

anyone else know of people who attempt to copy exactly what others before them have done?

we’ve really been over pretty much anything that factors into getting into college, i think this thread is pretty done

Sorry once again usermame. I let people get to me in an unbecoming manner.

Thanks!

Did you happen to know those scores off the top of your head or did you go look them up?

Mmmk, your opinion is really relevant to me.

lurk moar

I’m glad to see that you think it should be a relatively common experience for 7th graders to achieve such a score.

wow, get over yourself

i’ll call harvard, let 'em know you’re on your way

Because, you know, if you can’t get into Harvard you’re clearly a useless student.
