I dont know which i’m more scared for now. My Yale decision or the presidential decision…I think i might just keel over and have a heart attack tonight.

And just like I did this summer at YSP (which is now YSS…Beth, did you get that mailing? so wierd! haha)…I am taking caffeine pills just so i can stay up all night and watch the election results. Eeks!

Oh, and just a fun fact for everyone (especially those homophobes out there)…the motto at Yale USED to be “One in four…maybe more.” Now its “One in two, maybe you.” (Beth, Justin told me that one…I loved Justin!). So yeah, Yale is pretty gay (in the good sense of the word!)

I know exactly what you mean, TJ. As nervous as I am about Yale, I totally realize that the presidential decision will have a more significant effect on the next 4 years of my life than whether I go to my top choice or second choice school.

And I did get the newsletter…YSS. I hate change. I’m going to keep on saying YSP. It rolls off the tongue much more easily. YSP YSP YSP

That quote from Justin is hilarious! I think I remember him telling me that…

very funny beth! i just love the sound of meatloaf- i think its an unconsious childhood reminder thing

caffeine pills are really bad for you are they not? Remember Jessie in Saved By the Bell!?

and I agree about the election being more important… who is for Bush, who is for Kerry and who is for Nader??

Kerry right here!

Ehh it’s probably already evident after my crazy Amnesty activist babbles, but I’d rather not turn this into another Kerry v. Bush thread.

YEAH, LET’S NOT. i just wanted people to go vote! :(

I’m more worried about the Yale decision. I figure our country has survived a lot worse in its history and in the span of centuries, 4-8 years is nothing. Not saying it’s not important, simply that it’s importance is overstated. The economy will continue to fluctuate, there will always be people who hate America whether it’s justified or not, and people will continue to be gay, whether or not there’s a ban. Whoever’s president will still have practically half the country against him so I imagine that it will be hard to accomplish anything really productive. Whether or not the person I want to win the election does, I don’t see myself weeping in joy/sorrow. At this moment in time, Yale definitely holds more power over my emotions. Besides, there are so many lawyers and there’s been so much election coverage, the real president will probably remain a mystery for quite some time…though wouldn’t it be kind of strange yet cool if the president and our yale decisions came in on the same day?

I totally remember that Jessie episode…I can’t believe I used to watch that show…looking back it was so cheesy!

i know- but it was soo good then! it lost its appeal when I got TiVo and could see it whenever I wanted to (which became never) I am now obsessed with teh Fresh Prince of Bel Air- that show has amazing humor and each character adds depth and humor to the show… now back to reality

I was just curious to see how the CC population felt about the candidates. not trying to bash anyone. And I;m still waiting to hear a reason for why the ban is good- I;m all ears and eager to listen!

That could be the most devistating day of my life…or it could be the best day!..or a mix of the two.

Yeah, we shouldn’t turn this into a Bush vs. Kerry debate. We musn’t forget Nader…Hahaha

Ritzbitz…this is for you…“I’M SO EXCITED! I’M SO EXCITED! I’M SO…[breaks out into horribly crying fit] excited” (if you’re a TRUE Saved by the Bell fan, you’ll understand that) I think I’ve seen every episode 5 times each.

Save the environment. Plant a Bush back in Texas.

Oh My god that was amazing!!! my new away message
I;m gonna sign online just to post that

haha yeah, thats a good one

Haha did you get that from that bumper sticker website?

And Jill, I thought that was a very good point that you made–Whoever made WILL have half of the country against them. Although, out of the two candidates, I think that one is a bit more polarizing.

I understood that perfectly ivyboy!

thanks Beth…though I regret to say that I did not come up with it on my own. You are right that one is more polarizing. It’s like we have no real choice, it’s either a stubborn, Bible thumping mule or a flipflopper who tries to please everyone. I don’t care for Bush but Kerry’s stance was so fuzzy, even after all the online reading I did on him.
Ritzbitz: as far as the ban goes, I personally don’t agree with it. However, homosexuality and premarital sex are against a lot of people’s moral values. To them, it’s as fundamental as gay rights is to maybe someone like you. Again, it’s just individual upbringing. I mean, who’s to decide what the correct morals are? We can only continue to fight for what we believe to be best. I’m sure that this issue will be reversed/hotly contested, just like how abortion keeps shifting.

Sidenote to people who want to move to France: When I went to Spain and France, most of the people I talked to, who may or may not have represented the majority, did not like the socialist reform stuff. I guess ideals are one thing but when it’s actually cutting into your paycheck then it’s a little different. Which doesn’t mean people shouldn’t try.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

This is bad. Very very bad.

yeah. bush is winning… i expected that tho… the country is too polarized

Yay! More americans get to DIE in Iraq! More innocent americans get to be beheaded! More people get to lose their jobs! Gays get to be stripped of their rights! And America doesn’t have to be the “land of the free” anymore. We all get to be WASPs!

This is what those who voted for Bush condemned America to. :o( We’ll get them in '08!

This is such a rollercoaster

Fox said that Bush has Ohio, but ABC says it’s almost certainly Kerry

I cannot sleeeep until I know!
