We are heading to Auburn tomorrow to attend Camp War Eagle. S is so excited he already has worked out the schedule he wants for the first year. Let’s see how it works out and if get it as he plans…

Any good places to go for dinner that you could recommend?

and so our life with a college student starts…

Zazu’s was good, and close by. Hamilton’s was also good – nice place to sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. Both are on Magnolia, opposite direction of the university. If you just want a deli sandwich, Mama Goldberg’s was recommended to us. It’s also on Magnolia, across from the engineering area of campus.

Good luck with scheduling, and have fun!

We also enjoyed Hamilton’s. Next on my list to try is Amsterdam Cafe. Their crabcake and avocado sandwich is on the list of 100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama Before You Die, as is the Momma’s Love sandwich from Momma Goldberg’s.

Awesome, I will look for those places tonight!

Thanks

Got back from an awesome 2 days @CWE. Did not have the chance to go to the places you recommended but they are in our list for the future.

S had a great experience even when he was under the weather. He’s got a good 16 credits for fall that should allow him to get inboard fairly well while taking advantage advantage of his AP and Dual Enrollment credits.

Being our first S to college we got a bit antsy seeing him handling the process, couldn’t just watch and commented from time to time but this was all him. It is funny that on the 2nd day every 30 minutes he was coming back with a different schedule idea, at the end he listened well to the ChemEng College Advisor and got something that satisfied all the parties and didn’t commit freshmen suicide.

War Eagle!
