This process is somewhat random

There are a lot of people (including me) stressing about the waiting period between auditioning for school and getting offers. I just wanted to share my story so you guys can remember that everybody sees different things at an audition, and sometimes it seems totally random.

I am auditioning for MFA acting programs. I went to URTAs and was not passed on. I went to the open call and was celled back to 2 schools (ISU and UWis-Madison)who I have not heard from. I also pursued Indiana University but they would not even speak to me (they attended the open call). Independently I auditioned for Wayne State, Case Western and DePaul.

I got a letter from Wayne State that said they are considering me, but I have no idea where I am at on their list. Yesterday I got a letter from DePaul saying I have been accepted into their program. I had a good audition, but did not really expect to hear back from them!

I have not made a decision yet, as there are many factors, most important being the amount of debt I will incur. It just goes to show that you never know. If I had relied on URTAs I would not have any offers!
