Firstly, congrats! And secondly, here is a place for us to gather and talk while we wait for other results. So, what did everyone put as their major?

English major

Seriously? No one else here is ELC? This thread counts for transfers who have TAGs to UCD too, by the way!

Biochem and Molecular Biology!

can you guys put your stats here also??
thank you

Chemistry major.

Hi Eiffel-

ELC here. In at Davis. Haven’t heard “you’re in” from any others.

Oh…English major.

Neurobiology, Physiology & Behavior major

oh and shayant, we’re ELC…so it’s sort of pointless to mention our stats…
:P

American Studies major for me. So, where else is everyone applying?

What’s wrong with English?

my stats are 3.7 gpa and 1900 sat.

I also applied to UCSD and UCSB.

How many people who got accepted are planning on going to Davis?

ELC, BME major

Oh, I wasn’t saying “Seriously?” to the English major if that’s what you thought. It was attached to my whole “No one else here in ELC?” comment. XD I actually applied as an English major as well but plan on switching to American Studies if I attend.

I’m still waiting on results from USC, UCLA, Stanford, Princeton, and Yale, but honestly I would probably prefer Davis over some of them. There’s so much I love about Davis! :)

no not your post, the one that said “Oh…English Major”. just wondering if there was some english major stereotypes unbeknown to me

What are your favorite things about Davis? I went there over thanksgiving break, it was really pretty, but extremely cold (at least to me)

Oh, she was just adding onto her above post because she hadn’t mentioned her major yet, I think. :)

Well, I haven’t visited yet, but a lot of my friends go there and are all extremely happy there; they’ve all praised the friendly, happy atmosphere, the relaxed and walkable college town, the proximity to Sacramento, the beauty of the campus (I’ve seen pics of the Arboretum and LOVE it since I’m really big into nature and all that), and besides all that, the American Studies major looks like one of the most interesting American Studies majors available at the schools I’m applying to. :)

Where do you live that NorCal would be extremely cold? SoCal?

yep. It was a fifteen hour train ride and I got off the train about midnight and my first thought was “Holy crap! I can’t last here!” It did get a little warmer during the day but still much colder than southern california. It is beautiful there though, the nature is a big pull for me as well, since my town is smoggy and almost entirely treeless.

Haha, so I suppose you’re not applying to any schools outside Cali, huh? XD

no i did not, but not because of the cold, because out of state tuition is simply ridiculous.

Haha, yeah, that’s true as well. Though you could qualify for need-based aid, perhaps?
