Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.

A thread of the best quotes you’ve ever heard =D

Go!

something like

yesterday is a history tomorrow is the future and today is a gift and that’s why the call it the present.

lol. that’s probably not it.

Mine all come from La Petit Prince or The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery…the GREATEST book of all time

“words are the source of misunderstandings”
“but the eyes are blind, one must search with the heart”
“it is only with the heart that once can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye”
“only children know what the are looking for”
“when one wishes to play the wit, he sometimes wonders a bit from the truth”

All of this from a CHILDRENS book…

^ We were required to read it for freshmen honors English. I still want to hurt my teacher for that. She tried to turn it into an enviormentalist save-the-planet piece. There were a fair amount of people who supported enviormentalism in the class who were about to help in the process of strangulation.

^^^is your teacher crazy…
that is not even CLOSE to what that book is about
i’m sorry she tried to ruin it

^ Yes she was. She was senile, with a hearing problem.

She called me in truant because she gave me permission to sit outside during class to calm down after we got in a yelling match. She couldn’t remember where I was, and thought I’d ditched.

From Paper Towns by John Green:
“Maybe it’s more like you said before, all of us being cracked open. Like, each of us starts out as a watertight vessel. And these things happen- these people leave us, or don’t love us, or don’t get us or we don’t get them, and we lose and fail and hurt one another…But there is all this time between when the cracks start to open up and when we finally fall apart. And it’s only in that time that we can see one another, because we see out of ourselves through our cracks, and into others through theirs…But once the vessel cracks, the light can get in. The light can get out.”
