Thread for BSMD 2020-2021 Applicants (Part 1)

mine didn’t have the AMC ID or PIN either

I am not exactly sure about the rpi process but assuming that it works the same as union/amc considering it is the same med school:

I got an email from union that I was pushed to the medical school and that amc would send me a supplement. Therefore, I am assuming that it is the med school supplement. Try checking your spam email for previous emails from them.

Edit: the med school supplement was due a week after they emailed it for me and it allowed me to save before submitting so I could work on it in pieces.

I never got an email from RPI for the supplement, but I got this email?

Could you share the link. I cannot find it and never came across it during my research. Thank you

I would assume it’s same for both Union and RPI. There is a Save button that you can use to save your application. Even my daughter was confused and thought Save submits the application but it didn’t. Once you save it, anew button Confirm and Submit and that actually submits the application. Once you submit the application, it takes you back to the application page and gives you option to pay your fee. Hope this helps but please remember that my D submitted this through Union/AMC not RPI.

My son also received a similar email from AMC asking for MCAT score etc. There must have been an error in sending such emails. This seems like for regular track students. Seems like an autogenerated mass email that sent to lot’s of people.

To all RPI missing info. There could be 2 scenarios.

  • They accidentally send reminder to everybody

  • Genuinely, the ID and Pin info is not communicated clearly.

At this point best option is send an email to admission office and make a few calls as due date is tonight and hopefully the admission office realizes the problem on their hand.

Edit: This is reference to “i got an email from albany med saying that there’s an application due TONIGHT” from @9the0girl7 for Albany. Sorry for confusion.

I called AMC to inquire about the email to submit MCAT by end of day today. They mentioned, that email was sent by error and follow-up email will be sent to ignore it.

@PPofEngrDr, what do you mean by RPI/AMC supplement is due by tonight? We got the supplement just yesterday and it says it is due in 7 days. But we are also getting some automated emails saying supplement is due on 12/15. I think that is valid for regular med applications and not BSMD applications.

People who were interviewed with NJIT - did any news come after that? Any portal update or emails or phone calls? My D was interviewed on 11/24 and no news after that.

none for us either

No news for us also

My son got RPI supplement last week. He had exactly 5 days to finish it.

hmm, we got 7 days to finish it… are they not consistent with how many days they give to finish the supplement? And there is lot to do there - even 7 days seems very less.

I think they told my D that we’re are going to know only in 1st week of January.

If I have not received the RPI supplement yet is it safe to assume that I will not be receiving one?

no news

Also the fee is $120 (which is separate from $70 we paid to RPI). None of the other BSMD programs that we are applying to asked for separate fee from medical school.

@LargeTortoise, don’t lose hope. AMC supplement are on rolling basis and we just got it yesterday (after losing hope). So just hang tight.
