Hi there! I’m currently an incoming sophomore who took AP Human Geography during freshman year. I recently got my score back with a disappointment of getting a three on the exam (with my younger brother getting a four). Would this ruin my chance of getting into a top school? Also, would colleges compare my younger brother and I, possibly lessening my chance of admission? Side note: He has a perfect GPA and on the contrary, I have had two B’s (one high school class in middle school and one freshman year).
No, AP scores have no little-to-no effect on college admissions- especially a {passing} three from freshman year. And no, colleges will not compare you to your brother. Your application will be viewed as an individual.
