Tiger may win Elin back with $200M anti-cheating clause.

Supposedly he has proposed to her and has promised to never cheat again. Her response included a demand for a $200M clause in the pre-nup if he ever did cheat.

Other sources are reporting that the demand would be $300M.

She’s a dope if she goes back to him.

On one hand, I totally agree.

However, if he really has “felt the pain” from his horrendous behavior and is “moved” to really change, then if she wants to give him a chance, then fine…but I don’t think she should agree to a wedding date anytime soon. Supposedly, he wants to set a date.

Considering how his career took a nose-dive and how his ego/self-worth was so tied up with that, the crashing result may have been the rudest wake-up call ever.

Or he could just be BSing her.

Once a cheater…

If I were her I’d get married ASAP. Not many other ways to make $200M that fast.

My problem with taking back a cheater is it leaves you in a position to either be a jealous fool checking everything your partner says or does or it leaves you in a vulnerable spot where you are trusting and can get mistreated again.

Trust in a marriage is essential. If I see my wife speaking to a male neighbor I do not have to worry or question her about it.

I think he’s learned his lesson.

I think it also depends on if she has any real feelings left for him. The second time around won’t last long if you are constantly looking over his shoulder. And you know there will be all the crazies just trying to ‘prove’ he’s still a cheater.

For his sake, I hope he has learned a lesson. Karma’s a bi+c#.

I agree that she’d be constantly wanting to know his whereabouts and would likely insist on going to every tournament with him. That would get to be “too much” for any normal person.

I agree that it might be the fastest way to earn $200M. That said, now that the world is “on alert”, he wouldn’t be able to keep it all secret like before.

She’s already richer than I would ever know what to do with. Do you really live differently on $300 million than $75 million or whatever she’s already got?

Make him prove himself. Hot coals or broken glass? Maybe both. And she gets to keep that golf club that she smashed his car window with.

Hope these crazy kids work it out.

Cute children too.

That is so sad on so many levels. Level 1. If he actually wants to get back together with her he must love her, so what’s up with $200mm? She already has a gazillion dollars from him. Level 2. If this negotiation is actually going on, how do these details become public? Which trusted friend/advisor/employee/confidante is betraying their trust? Level 3. Why am I composing this lengthy reply to this thread??

I can’t imagine that she’d go back to him. The man she thought she knew & loved just didn’t exist. I don’t know how’d you get past the monumental betrayal & on the world stage no less.

Well, there are the kids to think about. They seemed like a happy family once upon a time. I would be up for it if I were her, what’s the downside? But since he’s committed that it won’t happen again, then I’d ask for $1 billion (or his entire net worth less $20,000 for him to live on for the rest of his life…whichever is less).

Then maybe he will be able to get back to playing the awesome golf I love to watch him play (and yes, I do root for him, I am ashamed about that , but I can’t help myself, he is (or was) an amazing golfer.

He may have learned his lesson…and they do have children so who am I to judge ?

I am curious how the agreement defines “cheating”.

Where there is love, there is forgiveness.

The downside is: HPV, HSV, CT, NG, etc. I generally agree with you, yalemom, with a couple of caveats. If I were her, I’d be up for it, too, but I’d ask for the money upfront and request mandatory monthly testing for the abovementioned nasties. Oh, and no uprotected sex. Trust, but verify :)

She thinks that by putting the $200M in the prenup, it will be a huge incentive for him to stay faithful.

Money means a LOT to Tiger. I remember him saying that he doesn’t spend any of his endorsment money. He saves it. So, he’d have to turn over a big chunk of that money if he cheated.

He already knows that he’s lost mega-millions these last few years from endorsement losses and his golf performance.

Excellent points BB! By the way, can anyone post a link where this is being reported? My news sources don’t mention anything…

I have seen people actually change. Even abusers and cheaters. Rare, but enough to give me hope.

I hope it works out for the sake of their kids. Best of luck to them is all I have to say.
