I am curious how the agreement defines “cheating”.

Probably how most of us would define cheating… However, she probably includes some things that would be the “appearance” of cheating, such as pics of some woman coming out of hotel room, etc.

I think the guy has proven himself to be pretty soul-less through this whole process (and I was a fan before). I wouldn’t consider it worth $200 million to remarry and go through that again, or remarry someone I did not trust and respect, or put my kids through another divorce. Seems like he just sees it as a business transaction again if these reports are true.

Let’s don’t forget Hillary rode the coattails of a cheater for decades and now has a fine job herself.
Though I suspect Elin doesn’t need Tiger’s money…

Look at it the other way. People need her money- she is going to spend the next twenty years besieged by oily adventures because she has a target on her back.

With Tiger she doesnt have to worry about him being in it for the money. And she gets her husband back and the kids get their father. Its pretty no brainer.

BTW- have you seen the picture of her on the beach in the Daily Mail!

Yep, that bikini pic is amazing. No wonder Tiger would sign anything…lol.

I wonder if Tiger has found that most normal clear thinking women won’t have anything to do with him, so he thinks his only chance at a “good woman” is to make nice with the ex-wife?

^Don’t they have children? isn’t any human being with some kind of partial normality in his heart would want to be with his children? He probably can get many others, if he wants. Does he? Why marry somebody else? What it means “good woman” vs not “good woman”. Does it mean “woman with amazing bikini picture” vs “woman with not so amazing bikini picture”. If so, there are millions of very good women out there.

Would you want to remarry him if it was only because he wanted to be with his kids more? I think everyone here knows how quickly that time passes. He was just SUCH a scumbag, and seemed to have zero remorse about it. Like he didn’t even understand that a decent human being does not treat a spouse like that. And he will always have the resources and opportunity to cheat. Even if he is finding life lonely now, I think taking someone back with that large a deficit of decency the first time around is also a no brainer. Elin has enough money from the divorce to live whatever life she wants to. I would not pick going back to that one.

What we don’t know (or at least I don’t know) is what their life together was like before the cheating came out. If it was–or seemed to be–pretty good, then maybe she can believe that it can be recaptured if the cheating stops. And maybe it can.

He had one of the most spectacular falls from grace of any public figure I can think of. And he has been continuing to compete in his sport and probably comes into contact repeatedly during these tournaments with snide jeers from the public gallery (not that he doesn’t deserve them…).

BUT, it’s one thing if you’re John Edwards (or David Petraeus, I guess), you can resign your position and retreat into virtual isolation in some gated community and not have to deal with people judging you to your face all the time. Tiger does have remarkable concentration, and I’m sure he blocks out 90% of what’s tossed out there on the golf course…but just look at his golf game these past few years and you can see, what he did has gotten to him.

So bottom line, Tiger may have finally hit rock bottom, after a totally charmed and perfect existence for many years, so maybe that’s what it takes? And if he employs the self-discipline he has demonstrated on the golf course and directs it to his personal conduct, then I think he might be able to redeem himself.

Maybe he realizes how much he loves Ellin and their kids and he is finally ready to be as good a husband and father as he is a golfer. Some people take a maddeningly long time to grow up…

Call me a fool but I believe it would be nice to put this family back together. I am sure he has learned a valuable lesson and will take his marriage and family more seriously. The kids could gain from this too. I am sure the kids would be pleased.

I frankly cannot say if I would remarry him or not. It is not my place to say, I do not know the man. I am not “a good woman” by any definition applicable to his ex-wife anyway and I am fine with my H. What I think is irrelevant, is it not? She will do whatever is the best for her and she is not part of our crowd, we cannot predict / estimate any close what she thinks and what is her set of values. Maybe “why not” is her best reason. Can you say anything better about her next guy whoever he would be?. How she will know? At least, here is pretty predictable case, no surpizes any more (unless there are other skletons, but again, how about the next guy with his potential set of skeletons?)
