Tiger Woods

There’s no compelling reason for the police to talk to them right away - especially the wife.

why would they have to talk to the police. As far as I know nobody has filed any charges, at this point. Tiger has to file an accident report. Was he on the highway? Why the highway patrol? It’s all bizarre. Given the recent evidence of the way the police and medical ‘professionals’ have behaved vis-a-vis information regarding celebrities and thier situations, I see no pay off in them talking to the police unless one of them wants to report a crime.

Maybe she did go after him with a golf club. I doubt we’ll ever know. Maybe he was cheating on her? THAT we will probably find out eventually. Gee. Won’t we all be better off for knowing THAT?

Isn’t great that we are not rich and famous, at least we could do all that in private.

I specifically watched ESPN’s Sports Reporters this morning to see if they would even discuss the Tiger issue. Of course they did and it was refreshing to see that the panel all agreed that Tiger needs to make a statement now and stop waiting to put layers and layers of spin on it.

Overall, it’s a bizarre story any way you care to spin it. She should be arrested for assault/battery/spousal abuse.

I read that the police have said that, while it is unusual not to get a statement from the driver, it is not required of the driver. The police report can be written up without his statement. Who called 911?

You guys have it all wrong. He was headed out to be first in line at a door-buster sale, hence his reckless driving. The hostess/Oz story is made up to cover this up.

Looks like they both allowed the wrong part of their anatomy to do the thinking for them.

Even my kids know better than that.

Well, if his wife was really using him as a punching bag, I hope he leaves her. And prosecutes. Having an affair is not good, but the correct response is to get couples’ counseling or leave/divorce the other party, not beat them to a bloody pulp.

I wonder how many men never report spousal abuse because it would make them look like “wimps” to admit a woman is abusing them.

back window wasnt broken

[Tiger Woods Gets Chance to Tell Police About Crash (Update1) - Bloomberg.com](<a href=“Bloomberg Politics - Bloomberg”>Bloomberg Politics - Bloomberg)

I just heard on the news that Florida law only requires that the driver produce a valid drivers license, proof of insurance and registration, and that they are not required to volunteer any other information.

What is Tiger afraid of? If this was a simple traffic accident he would have talked to the police. Is he afraid that his wife will be arrested for assault? Is his wife a naturalized citizen? Could she be deported for this? Will Tiger fly to the West Coast for his golf tournament this week. Is the PGA Tour freaking out as its major draw is hanging out to dry? What does Nike think about this? Tiger needs to face the music and let this play out. It is now getting very weird.

“I wonder how many men never report spousal abuse because it would make them look like “wimps” to admit a woman is abusing them.”

Here’s some info about male domestic abuse victims:

"Veteran domestic violence investigator Ed Janese was putting the finishing touches on the paperwork for an arrest warrant on Thursday afternoon.

The Falls Police detective was preparing to charge a suspect with second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and third-degree criminal mischief…

But unlike the vast majority of the cases he investigates, this time, the suspect in Janese’s cross-hairs was a woman.

“She pulled a knife on him (the male victim), hit him with a stick and used a baseball bat to smash the windshield of his car,” the detective said. “All this as he was trying to get away from her.”

Statistically, it is a small percentage of the cases that detectives, specializing in domestic violence cases, handle. Only about 3 percent of domestic abuse cases, nationwide, involve male victims…

Still, Janese says whether the victims are men or women, what is done to them has to be addressed.

“Domestic abuse is a learned pattern of controlling behavior and women can control men just like men control women,” Janese said. “(The abuse) is not always physical (violence), it’s the control. We hear about the physical part, but it’s the controlling part that (begins the abuse). Violence is usually the last part of it.”…

“Only 20 percent of suspected domestic abuse cases involving women are reported, so I would think the percentages are about the same for male victims,” Janese said.

Another reason why there may be far more male victims of domestic abuse than are reported could be the social stigma attached to those claims.

“A lot of male abuse goes unreported because people laugh at a male who says he’s being abused,” Janese said. “In our society, we don’t believe a woman can abuse a man.”
[Number of men who are domestic abuse victims far higher than the number actually reported, police say](http://www.lockportjournal.com/local/gnnlocalnews_story_161184310.html/resources_printstory)

He’s probably spoken to his lawyer, her lawyer, a PR people, his agents, and Nike and he’s awaiting for this to die down before coming out to speak about it. What confuses me: 1) why out at 2:20am?
2) why the accident in the first place (upset? racing away?, etc.)
3) why did the wife come out w/ a golf club?..help, hurt? w/ a golf club?
4) why did we hear about broken windows and now that’s not true?
5) did Tiger have blood in his mouth and cuts to his face, or not? Why?
6) what else did the neighbors hear or observe? They placed the 911 call.
7) why doesn’t Tiger come out and tell us what happened? What is he hiding?
8) was there a dog barking and did Tiger ever meet OJ?

“why would they have to talk to the police. As far as I know nobody has filed any charges, at this point.”

They may have to talk if police suspect Tiger was assaulted by his wife.

Nothing confirmed, bits and pieces here and there.

His wife confronted him about the affair that night, he admitted to it. She got upset, took a golf club and started to hit him. He ran out of the house into the car, trying to get away. As he was driving away she was still chasing him with a golf club hitting the car, maybe that’s why there was a broken window. He hit a tree and a fire hydrant while looking at the rear view mirror.

I heard all of this on TV while down in the Bahamas.

"For the third day in row, professional golfer Tiger Woods will not be talking to investigators about the early-morning crash that sent him to the hospital.

A spokeswoman for Florida Highway Patrol said the agency was contacted at about 1 p.m. from prominent local attorney Mark NeJame, who said he is now representing Woods. NeJame told FHP that its interview with Woods scheduled for today was canceled.

FHP also released the 911 call dispatchers received from a neighbor after Woods drove his Cadillac Escalade into a tree.

“My neighbor, he hit the tree,” the unidentified caller said. “I see him, and he’s laying down.”

The caller said he couldn’t tell if Woods was breathing. After dispatchers asked the caller if he was near Woods, the caller said “I’m with him right now.” When they asked again how he was breathing, the line went dead.

“His phone must have gone out of range,” one dispatcher said.

Earlier today Woods broke his public silence about the accident and posted a statement on his website, tigerwoods.com, claiming responsibility for the accident and denouncing rumors that have surfaced about the incident…

“This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again…”

Perhaps she started beating him with a golf club, he ran to his car, and she kept chasing him and hitting the car. He ran into the fire hydrant tree and then tried to get out of his car to escape her, but he tripped, and she started beating him about the head.

Makes sense to me. We’ll see what eventually is revealed.

More from Tiger’s quote. Believe this and I know a bridge you can buy:

““My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false…”

Sounds like someone trying to protect an abuser. Sad.

This is going to be expensive
