Schmaltz’s humor is NOTHING like rude armpit noises. You have a question or comment about his humor, take it up with him. Quit yapping at my feet, will ya? He enjoys being funny. You seem to enjoy being annoying. Please stop.

You can “exit” a marriage, but those kids can’t exit who their father is.

I grieve for those kids.

Looks like alcohol and prescription drugs may have been involved in the crash. Vicodin and Ambien. BTW, I have a prescription for Vicodin in the trunk of my car. I didn’t get the stuff when I found out how powerful it is and that one shouldn’t operate heavy machinary after using it. Most of us know about the potential effects of Ambien given Patrick Kennedy’s experience with the sleep medication.

While it is true Elin has more options than a woman who doesn’t have the resources to leave quite so easily, Elin has something they don’t have…all this very very very public airing of these personal matters. That has to be very difficult on top of the pain and hurt between the spouses.

On top of that, he cheated with way more than one woman and I think the whole story is even worse than some others…and so soon after being married.

projection, much?

That is true, but the public airing of the sordid nature of what Tiger did has also allowed for great public sympathy. I don’t think that there are many out there (save for a few “funny guys” on CC) who feel that anyone but Elin is the victim here.

The way the story is progressing, though, I think that Elin will garner more and more public sympathy and recognition that she was in a very bad position.

The public aspect of this situation = bad. The large amount of money makes it easier for her to deal with the fallout. It’s sort of a wash.

Hey, no fair lumping me in with those other clowns!
I think it’s reasonable to acknowledge that men basically want all the nookie they can get, while still believing that they should remain faithful to their wives.

+1 I think the political threads are beckoning you.

You missed the posts that were sorry for TIger cause he was being abused?

Really, purpleflurp. Whatever your issue is, it is really detracting from the otherwise entertaining conversation in this thread, and seems to be serving nothing other than to try to egg on or pick a fight with other posters. Don’t see any point in that. If you need a little action, this isn’t the place for it.

I’m not sure what you are trying to say.
Are you trying to make the argument that men don’t think or want sex for most of their existence?
Do you think that monogamy is actually how men operate on a biological level?

Monogamy is social construct (especially sexual monogamy). Very few of evolutionary ancestors practice monogamy.

The way Tiger played through pain before his surgery, I am convinced that he has been on Vicoden or Percocet for years. And I suspect he still is. I am not at all surprised by reports of prescription pain pill abuse. And one of the mistresses has also said he was fond of Ambien. The night of the accident the gentlemen who made the 911 call described Tiger at one point as snoring while he was lying on the ground. Sounds like narcotic pain meds and sleeping pills both. Mix in alcohol and mistresses, his life is a mess. He will be in rehab soon.

“He will be in rehab soon.”

This is the most optimistic outcome, given what we are hearing.

He is going the way of all child stars…golf, or music…too bad.

Edited to add: Payne-- marriage is a construct which was invented by men because they wanted to be able to be sure they were the father of the children they were raising. It wasn’t actually invented by women. Further, all studies show that married men are much happier than single men and that married women are less happy than single women. IN fact, in the order of happiness, it goes: 1. married men. 2. single women 3. married women 4. single men…the least happiest of all. Fail. 40% of infidelity is committed by women who are unsatisfied by thier mates. It’s not as if marriage serves women, or was invented by women. FWIW.

Mr. Payne-
I think there are a few other monogamous species, though with the exception of, I believe, penguins, I can’t recall the others off hand. I took 07dad’s comments to mean that all men aren’t complete pigs- the can demonstrate some modicum of judgement by not lusting after Aunt Gertrude or Grandma Nell. While some some sick puppies do not draw the line at siblings or children, that is, hopefully, a topic for another thread.

I agree, the biggest victims here are the kids.

Birds of a feather… ??? Sorry, not funny, or punny.

Mammals are very rarely monogamous. Birds are often monogamous.

My point is that from an evolutionary perspective, the male sex drive is a behavior which leads to the success of the species. Men realized pretty earlier on that reproducing with moms & sisters didn’t yield good success, so they stopped doing it. I don’t think incest is very common in the animal kingdom.

I think most women are disgusted by Tiger’s actions but are any men? I don’t wish to be cynical but I somehow doubt it.
