Two words- Steve McNair.

Halle Berry is another example of that truth. Her husband was a serial cheater, at a time when she was probably considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, not to mention extremely talented, intelligent, and a loving and loyal wife.

One wise commentator said that if every sports star that cheats and fights with his wife lost his endorsement, there would be no endorsements. lol.

Does it matter how beautiful you are, if you marry a superstar? Can anyone really expect them not to cheat? Makes you wonder.

Absolutely true!! But “adultery by sports figure” scandals don’t seem to hurt the earning power of many sports figures (I’m thinking of Michael Jordan). However, if you’re a sports figure who has been known as a straight arrow and then has a doozy of a sex scandal (I’m thinking of Steve Garvey), it can really be devastating.

It also would be devastating if one became the first male sports figure to be revealed to be a victim of domestic abuse. While many (not all!) men admire men who are able to have affairs with beautiful women – whether or not the men in the affairs are married – men who are physically victimized by women are objects of derision and fodder for comedians. I think that’s what Tiger is trying to avoid.

If indeed his wife did hit him, he did the right thing in driving away. What would absolutely KILL his endorsements is if he stayed and hit her back.

Can anyone really expect them not to cheat? Makes you wonder.

I don’t think that character and fame/wealth cancel each other out.

There’s character/motive and then there’s opportunity. The rich, beautiful and famous just have more of the latter. Many married Joe Schlubs would have a problem turning down Rachel Uchitel and a good % of married Plain Janes would think twice before saying no to Russell Crowe.

It’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get to heaven.

I don’t envy the rich and famous. I’m feel blessed not to have to fight off the opportunities that they have to abandon their ethics.

oldfort - The maybe’s were meant to dramatize how useless speculation is. It was sarcasm. I am sorry you didn’t pick up on that.

Russell Crowe? Naw, I admire his acting, but he doesn’t seem like a very pleasant person.
My H knows however not to leave me alone in a room with [Crowes twin.](<a href=“Discovery Hub - News & Technology”>Discovery Hub - News & Technology)
But if he did, it would be his own fault- plus Eddie is a sweetheart.

^^^
Meg Ryan would disagree.

Will someone please start a threat on Chelsea.
Inquiring Minds wants to know.

Roger Federer is a close friend of Woods and he is an interesting contrast. Federer went out with his friend Mirka for a long time and she became his business manager. She is not particularly glamorous but it seems that she’s always been there for him. They are now married with two children and seem to be doing fine. I’ve never heard of any rumors about Roger but perhaps that is due to his obsession with his sport.

I wouldn’t take Meg Ryan to be the last word on picking men
;)

The opportunity to be with George Clooney might make me abandon my morals for just a little while … ;)

Do you know how to ride a bike?

On the rear view mirror of Tiger’s Escalade:

Norwegian women swinging nine irons are closer than they appear.

I sent musicamusica’s joke to my H and he sent these back:

Perhaps Tiger should have used a driver

This is the first time Tiger has failed to drive 300 yards

Tiger Woods has been dropped by Gillette after admitting that the car crash was the closest shave he had ever had

They’re coming fast & furious:

Tiger Woods is so rich that he owns lots of expensive cars. Now he has a hole in one.

What’s the difference between a car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards.

Tiger Woods wasn’t seriously injured in the crash, but he’s still below par.

What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2.30 in the morning? They went clubbing

Tiger Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. He couldnt decide between a wood and an iron.
