I don’t move threads to the PF since users have to opt in. So since it’s here, political commentary isn’t allowed.

Things change. Taxi drivers in NYC are not happy about Uber and Lyft, and yet Uber and Lyft drivers make their livings off Uber and Lyft. Do they make as much as taxi drivers used to? I don’t think so.
People who work at Macy’s or Dillards are losing their livelihoods as malls close and people shop more online.

It’s not that easy - you don’t ask a million followers or a half a million followers to “meet me at _______” and they automatically go there. Ad revenue is based on your follow numbers and/or the number of engagements you get - less followers, less engagement, less revenue to you. Some of these people have taken years to build their following.
Any job loss is a job loss. Sure it happens all the time. Doesn’t make it ok.
And the $$ loss is just part of issue with the banning. It definitely has become political.

Gotcha. But I use my laptop and a tutorial has me getting the app on my phone and then …whatever, I got out. I’m not giving them my mobile number. I didn’t use Tik Tok so I don’t need this either. Thanks though!

Trying not to be political.
It was shut down last night so that there could be a show of the social media company being saved.
The shut down was fake and orchestrated for maximum media exposure.
I mean it was off line for 12 or so hours so that it could rise from the dead. So to speak.

I know it isn’t easy, but they’ve had a year to tell people where to go, to set up the second platform. I’ve received a lot of notices from friends on FB to find them on Lemon8 or some other platform (I assume they are posting on all their platforms and social media places where to find them). I think a lot of people never thought it would be shut down so didn’t do anything to move.
