Oh, most of them have more than one platform. But TikTok was by far the most popular, the most $ making opportunities. That’s like telling that person at Macy’s “well, you can’t keep your full time job but these 20 hours a week should be just fine for you”.

And to bring it full circle that person is free to go work at another department store part time or full time.
I’m only mildly sympathetic. This ban has been on the books since April 2024 and discussion of banning had been happening much longer. If the influencers and others who make a living off Tik Tok didn’t formulate a plan B because they were “hoping” the law wouldn’t go into effect that is not an effective way to run a business. There never was a first amendment argument for keeping the app. And personally I find it troubling that so many people have no issue with providing personal data to our number one foreign adversary because they can’t survive without TikTok. It’s kind of sad TBH.

It went down for 12-14 hours. There is a 90 day extension.
I was being facetious.
It was barely gone - like other systems down for maintenance.
