So my ED I application for Tisch got put on hold on until ED II. I find out February 15th. Is there anything I can do to strengthen my application? I was planning on sending in another letter of recommendation as well as the article that was written about me when I was awarded my school’s artist of the month award. I do realize that my application being put on hold is probably just a gentle rejection but you never know. Thanks!

I don’t think it’s a gentle rejection at all. NYU doesn’t seem to have any problem saying no and they don’t seem to move people to ED2 unless they really have hope it could work. It sounds like they want to see first semester grades. So, I’d say keep your grades up and show them you can do the work. How were your test scores- do you think taking the SAT or ACT again would help? You might want to call your NYU regional admissions counselor and ask directly what you could do to strengthen your packet. Not sure another letter will help unless it can show something truly different from the others. I’m betting they’re waiting for more “hard” data.
