"While I take a day to do 2 chapters of physics and that is if I slog it away. "

TWO? YOU CAN FINISH TWO IN ONE DAY?
From SL Arora?

THAT SCREAMS GENIUSNESS

SAT Physics?

“Bubbles is a lot less bubbly”

-I’ve been getting that a lot lately. =/

And he tells me in a PM which he sent of his own accord without any prompting by me whatsoever that he is Valedictorian of his class. I wonder if he’s faking it all?
Read it carefully, “I was a valedictorian in class tenth & was featured in several newspapers”

Any idiot could get 90+ in boards if they’re just doing CBSE/ whichever board.
Specially if the idiot is a chess champ.

Esconie is an Idiot.
Basant MIT’11 is an idiot.
Viksit MIT’11 is an idiot.
Adrivit Duke '13 is an idiot.
Abhishek UCB’12 is an idiot.

I know, I messed up with my class 12th boards.

He’s a liar. He got rejected by every school he applied to last year! He didn’t get a 2200 or whatever he claims he got. Look at his english man lol
Not by every school, but yeah, most of the schools.
Rest - I don’t need to prove it to you.
(Send a personal e-mail to the World Chess Federation requesting my stats and ratings)

I apologize. (If my posting is an impediment to any of you)
No further posting here.

Aw, I kinda feel bad now.

Whoa, thanks a lot for the link bubbles! Interesting essays! :)Oh,a nd not SAT physics. CBSE Physics.
And furtive word of advice- Don’t.

@Aniruddh- It depends on the chapters innit? If you’re talking electrostatics/nuclei/atom/ray optics, then yes, two in a day is quite feasible as it probably is for you too. But if you bring in magnetism/AC, etc, then it should take me a day each chapter. As it probably does everyone else? One chapter a day is quite reasonable…

Tippu- You shouldn’t like people just because of their talent. Perfectly nice people are talentless. And very talented people are very idiotic loadsa times!
So how was your visit to Illinois, Urbana Champaign? That’s a lot of college visits you are making in your senior year, bdw. Don’t you miss a lot of school due to it?

pixie, I think you misunderstood what I said regarding talented people but I agree that they are not necessarily nice people.

UIUC visit was just a day trip to visit Beckman Institute. Came back feeling very positive about that place. I will write more about this later when I have some free time.

Hmmm I think last year’s batch was more cohesive as a whole and all we do here is fight :|

Pix yeaah makes sense… Which textbook do you use? In SL the chapters are 100+ pages long lol

“Esconie is an Idiot.
Basant MIT’11 is an idiot.
Viksit MIT’11 is an idiot.
Adrivit Duke '13 is an idiot.
Abhishek UCB’12 is an idiot.”

Moron, they didn’t pay attention to their boards as such because it did not matter for them at all since they already got offers for admission.

Well you, Mr. Harish, needed a good board percentage. They didn’t. Period.

aniruddh, you might be right. What do I know? I only joined CC in Dec 2009.
From what I could tell, only 3 or 4 people posted regularly on TiT up until Nov/Dec. We have many more people now and I feel it is too early to declare that last year’s bunch was better. Every batch is unique. I am optimistic that we will have a much bigger cohesive group in a couple months.

No personal attacks please.

^Seconded.

This makes me sad.

Pix I don’t think Tippu meant he only likes people who are talented haha. That sounds so wrong
Has anyone heard from kaira lately? She was the one who applied SCEA to Yale right?

HARYYEEEEE POTTTERRRR!!!
What I wouldn’t do to go to Hogwarts Hogwarts Hoggy Warty Hogwarts.

Make way for Noddy, NODDY!
Shout a big hoooray!
His bell is ringing and singing, yo!
It’s a happy day!

What I wouldn’t do to live in Toyland!

Come to think of it, I would love to live anywhere reality ceases to exist.

Nemo- I haven’t heard from Kaira lately. Last I corresponded with her was on the Yale forum. She had already gotten her interview while I am still waiting on tenterhooks. But then she submitted her application very early while I did it on Nov 1 22:00 hrs.

Come on people, Out with It!

Which book of Harry Potter is your favourite?
I know you all read harry potter, so don’t try to deny it.

But I wouldn’t want to be Tessie Bear. She’s too well, delicate for me.

Ho Ho Ho! Toyland! Big Ears! The two evil goblins!

My favourite character in Harry Potter(after harry potter) are the Weasley Twins. Fred and george aren’t bad on screen too.

Am I doing the whole talking to myself thing again, arunemo? Well, you’re o/l now so join me before I seem like some mad hatter.

But my dear pixie, you are mad as a hatter. You don’t just sound like it; you are. Embrace it I say.
JOKES, I’ll join you in the HP madness. I used to love the 5th book a lot. But then I changed my mind because Sirius’s death affected me too much. It was a perfect book otherwise. Then it kind of moved to the Seventh. But I’m not completely sure.
If we split the series into the ‘early’ and ‘late’ books-The early ones being Books 1,2, and 3 and the late ones being 4, 5, 6, and 7 I would have to say I liked the 3rd one the best in the early ones and the 7th in the late ones. But this keeps changing, so check back in 2 weeks’ time
My favorite characters apart from the Weasley Twins (they. are. LEGENDARY) were Sirius, Tonks, and Lupin (Notice how almost all of these characters ended up dead. As if it wasn’t enough that real life is unfair, the literary imaginary realm turns out to be unfair too. Hmph). Among the minor characters I liked Oliver Wood. And my favorite Hogwarts teacher is Professor Flitwick (You can tell I’m a tad obsessed, can’t you?)
2.5 DAYS!

Among the antagonists, I liked Pansy Parkinson, because she was so much fun to make fun of (‘Pug faced’-always cracked me up). Cormac Mclaggen was one I liked too-he was such a pompous git.
