Haha that scene’s from the beginning of the movie. It makes sense once you get to know Holly Golightly ![]()
I’m hoping I can get away somewhere, possibly Paris again (because I never tire of that city). I was originally hoping to go to Turkey, but with the stupid bad weather the flight might get delayed too many times for it to be worth it ![]()
C’est terrible! There’s so much snow here, it’s crazy! The worst bit is it wasn’t snowing one teeny bit when we had our exams so there was no chance of a snow day. Then, right after the last day of school, it snows two whole days in a row and we’re stuck inside just when we want to go out. It’s ridiculous! Right now it’s freezing, and since I live in a heritage building that was built pre-WW2 the radiators are old (Vintage, my dad calls them) and they sometimes stop working, so it’s freezing inside -.- Eugh.

Chem 780! I want to kill myself for wasting money.

F U KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

Whoa aniruddh don’t beat yourself up! I know you said you wanted to get 800 and all but 780 is a ridiculously good score and I would kill to get a 780 in anything! What’s your percentile like? (If they’ve released it yet).
I haven’t gotten mine yet. I’m beginning to fear the worst :|

congrats Pixie on your sat score!
Aniruddh, 780 is great! congrats

what is this place ?

Thanks luci. I love calling you luci. I hope you don’t mind. (Although even if you do I’ll go on purposely to be annoying :p). I hope yours are upto your satisfaction?
Sir’s place? Sir’s house?

Ani, 780 in chem is a good score and better than a 750. Don’t feel bad. You know the chem curve; -1, -2 generally means you’re off 800.
Hey, they must be delayed. It happens to a lot of people. Don’t freak out. I’m sorry this happened though.

Pixie, who is “Sir”? come on don’t assume everyone knows what you know!
Yes, I’m quite happy with my scores: got 800 M2, 800 history and did terrible physics. will not submit that score ;)

Oh, I’m sorry i assumed everyone understood who he is since I was talking about Physics tutions and my physics tutor in my posts. Um, he’s my physics tutor who gives me physics tutions. ![]()
In India, particulary Delhi (and other metropolitans) it is almost a requirement to take personal tutions. Everybody from the state topper to the less intelligent take tutions here for the finals which are called “Board exams”. Since I’m in Delhi, I take CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) exams while Ani takes ISC (Indian Secondary certificate). There are various other boards. The syllabus is mainly same. So, since the syllabus is not done very in depth in school by teachers because of time restriction students take tutions. It is like going to school… except you probably learn more than you would at school. Tbh, if one studies just relying on school teachers they would not go above 80% (exempting some teachers). However, one is not exempt from going to school and the schedule becomes quite hectic. Here is an example:
Wednesday–
2:10-- Come back from school.
3:30- 5:00- Economics tution
7:30- 10:30- Physics tution. (My physics tutor teaches after work so it’s late in the weekdays)
After that of course you self study if you wish. Don’t freak out though, that was one of my hectic days, all were not so. Just most. ![]()
It’s all over now since syllabus is done. Only tests going on and I take my tution tests to be more important than my school tests (unless it’s pre board).

Congrats on your scores, that’s awesome! :)

I’ve narrowed down my list of potential favourite words to the following:

Desire, Will, Happiness, Determination, Abhinaya (expression in dance) and …“no” (because I seem to be saying no quite a lot these days).

Not that I really have a favorite word. It’s quite stupid a question.

pixie, I am happy that you were able to improve your score. Agree - SATs are horrible. I hate multiple choice tests.

Yea I’m not freaking out. Just miffed. I thought they would send an email or such telling me that it’s been delayed for whatever reason?
I can’t send my scores now. I just hope they come out before 31st December ![]()
Haha my favorite word right now is loquacious. I didn’t really think about that actually, it just popped up in my mind and I wrote it here…? Wow am I random.

Hmmm guys… Yeah I guess… But still man… Not worth $120
Pixie congrats on the 2250! Really commendable.

Pixie so you’ve finished the portion kya? I still got a lot of Physics left that I haven’t done till date. Physics is nice I think… I changed textbooks… Stopped studying from SL Arora, started doing my ISC textbook only… :D

No tuitions = not above 80%? Seriouslyyyyyyyyy?

And btw pixie how much did you get in your 10th ka boards? I wanted to know to compare as to how much a person should get to be academically qualified for a place like Yale!

^ Told ya not to retake. Wouldn’t have mattered in your application outcome anyway.

Next time take my advice more seriously ;)

C’mon man don’t allow these small things get to you.

I’m glad to hear you’re happy. I’m not really, although it was only a week spent waste (thank goodness no more).

Ani: Physics is really nice. Which is why I never work at it and consequently end up remembering all the theory and none of the formulae. Half my time is spent deriving formulae in test hall. ![]()
I haven’t finished the portion although I should be done before december ends. Oh bdw, I started SL Arora today. I like it more than Pradeeps!

Well, unless you’re in a really good school then yep. I wasn’t exaggerating I think. If someone relies on my school teachers then they’re goners imo.
I wouldn’t know for sure since everyone takes tution here.
I got a 92.2 in 10th?
10th was my most EC hectic year with trips out of town in December so I shouldn’t complain I suppose. Of course I had no idea I was going to apply abroad otherwise I would have started studying before November. How much did you get?

Why should it? I love listening to Sufi devotional songs as well.

Luci, I wanted to add that this tution situation is not true for 10th. I only had tution in Sanskrit which was weird because all my friends went for math/ sci and I was twiddling my thumbs mumbling about sanskrit. Tution mania starts from 11th. Why do I have a sense of deja vu?

pixie, that is insane schedule. btw, what is “portion”?

It’s something every Delhiite goes through. (although I have eco too which not every sciency has, but my eco teacher at school is aweful and 12th eco isn’t a joke like the 11th one)
Portion would be the syllabus.

Arun, if I remember correctly the delayed scores come out two weeks later than the given date. I’m really sorry that you have to wait :(

Sigh. Still not out. I suppose it is delayed after all. There’s always a first ![]()
Econ’s pretty interesting no? Do you do Macro or Micro or both?

Pixie, I prefer my small rural school to yours definitely!
Arun: did the scores get delayed just for you or for the entire testing center ?

Good Morning India. :)
