I keep forgetting that I have hw assignments to finish. This CC thread is very distracting.

Thanks bubbles.

I don’t know. I will wait and see but MBA is definitely not something I dream about.

Haha senioritis already kicking in?

Lol indeed it is. And you’re welcome. :)

You’d make a great professor, I think.

I actually never understood the point of “Business School”…so many people succeed in business without going to “business school.”

I think that’s just me though, haha.

Nice set of resolutions. Just curious, why skydiving after 18th? You don’t have to seek permission from parents? My parents will never ever give me permission for skydiving even if I didn’t suffer from acrophobia. (It was a disaster when we went on top of Willis Tower [tallest building in Chicago]. I literally crawled to the elevator to come down.)

I didn’t write anything fancy. It is easier for those who have spent some time on campus.

You have absolutely no reason to feel this way. I am most certain of this.

I SWEAR.

And I reflect bubbles’ sentiments about Yale. knocks on wood

@bubbles: By the way, about the whole get a life thing–
I did not intend on being rude and I am sorry if I came across as being mean to you.

@aniruddhc- Thanks. It’s all right.

Here is something I found useful:

[The Best of Science Careers, 2010](http://sciencecareers.sciencemag.org/career_magazine/previous_issues/articles/2010_12_24/caredit.a1000124)

CUNY isnt good? I thot I wud apply for Macaulay Honor’s college…Darn.

So my list comes down to Singapore Universities and UBC and Stony brook. I hope I get in these places. Not that Indian Universities are bad…I mean St. Xaviers in Kolkata has a good repo for econ, and I am going to apply there and St. Stephens. But 97% for St. Stephens is as much out of my reach as going to sun for a vacation. Lol

No, Macaulay Honors is very good. The benefits are also so sweet. Haha

meghna147, UBC is a very good university. Arguably the best one on your list. It is in a very very beautiful location.

Vancouver looks like the fake NYC :p

Hahaha I’m just teasin’.

But yeah, Vancouver is beautiful.

Haha oh Tippu, I didn’t mind.

I don’t get it Meghna- why are you shooting so low wrt American Universities? I mean you got a 90 in your boards and stuff

Well you’re looking for financial aid right?
Go to a cheap university
Apply to Minnesota I guess
Idk look for cheap universities, USNews has a whole list of them.

And just so you know, you don’t HAVE TO get a 97 to get into Stephens! From what I hear, there are 1st, 2nd… etc lists and one of my friend’s friend got in with a 90ish%

There were 100 sheep in a farm, one found a way to escape. How many were left?’

^I have great respect for anyone who answers that logically.

Tippu-Most of the good skydiving companies I found say I have to be over 18, hence the wait. I should probably include bungee jumping to that list too. I’m sorry to hear you have acrophobia, the Willis Tower experience sounds quite harrowing :frowning: One of my cousins has a mild form, and unfortunately for him our apartment is ALWAYS on the top floor everywhere we move (even in Belgium!), so he doesn’t like coming over often!
OH how could I forget the most important resolution? WATCH COLDPLAY LIVE. They’re coming to Rock Werchter here in BE and there is no way in my life that I’m missing them.
The writer’s remorse bit was justified, if you read my Common App essay you would understand. I’m not saying so for the heck of it, because I actually liked my Yale Supplement. My CA one borders on abysmal
Btdubs Tippu, we got our Philosophy Internal Assessment assignment today. I have to think of a topic by this week. I thought of several, but the best one I thought of in class was related to Grey’s Anatomy and medical ethics-there are a lot of ways I could go with that. Have you done your IA yet, and if so what did you do yours on? Also I only just found out today that the Bhagavad Gita is one of the IBO Prescribed Texts! Crazy right, we haven’t talked about it at all in class!

OMG I need to watch Coldplay live as well.

In response to bubbles’ sheep question:

Well I don’t think this is correct but if one sheep is able to escape then the other sheep will follow him so none will be left.
Idk

Lol

Nemo, my acrophobia is not that bad. I was fine for the most part, walking without much fear along the outer guard rail. It was the sight of this little toddler happily crawling against the glass wall triggered it.

I did IB philosophy last year. I got Bertrand Russel (Problems of Philosophy) and one of my friends got Bhagavad Gita. He did a good job using Shankaracharya’s commentary. (I read that Shankaracharya was the first one to highlight those verses from Mahabharat)

I think our Philosophy teacher is the best and we had so much fun. He was an easy grader but significant portion of the grade was based on class participation. It forced everyone to come prepared. Even now, several of my classmates go to him to discuss philosophy.

My brother is a huge fan of Cold Play. He went to their concert couple of years ago. I think I have heard Viva La Vida too many times.

Got to go but I am not ready for school … :(
