<p>Components don’t have “weight” in our review. There are no grids, charts, graphs, rubrics, etc. We read holistically and take prose notes to back up our decisions.</p>

I doubt that I’ll get into UVA this year. But I am thinking of taking 24 credits this summer at my local community college. Is it possible that I apply for admission for the January term as a first-year if I complete some of the gen. ed courses–English Composition, Statistics, Biology, US History etc. with a 4.0. I know this isn’t nearly enough information to make a decision but I just wanted to know if I have a chance. I am really determined to do this. I have a pretty good GPA and SAT score right now and a ton of extracurricular activities–volunteering for years, but I still doubt that I’ll get in during the Fall. I’ve always wanted to attend UVA and I’m willing to push myself and put in the effort. Is it possible at all? I just need a little hope to keep me going because from what I’ve heard my chances are slim to none.</p>

<p>In general, the college doesn’t take students in the January term of the first year. There are exceptions here and there, but as a traditional transfer, you should plan to enter in the fall of your second year.</p>
