<p>So my cousin Adam just graduated from NYU with a degree in International Affairs. He applied for admission into Mount Sinai School of Medicine and got accepted. Needless to say, my aunt and uncle are OVER the moon.</p>
<p>BUT, Adam also applied for a job with the government. He got that one too. They’ve offered him a one year stay in France as a representative of the US Government, where he’ll get to attend the university of his choice and “further” his international career. </p>
<p>Adam’s always wanted to become a pediatric cardiologst, but he loves that sense of intl life. He always thought becoming a diplomat was cool (A bunch of people in my family have chosen that career path).</p>
<p>I say go for the diplomat job, its an one of a life time chance, can’t pass it. I think he should go to France and study international Affairs. Then after his one year stay, decide whether he wants to continue international life or study to become a pediatric cardiologist.</p>
<p>Isn’t Adam informed enough to make a decision of his own? I mean, he graduated from NYU so he should be well versed into the business to know whether or not an international career would be good for him. Anyhow, I think the advantage of such career,vis a vis the medical path, is that you are more exposed to career advancements and on top of that, you will get to travel abroad and experience other cultures. To me that is stimulating and exciting but then again, Adam has to go with what he likes the most because only that would make him happy. Nevertheless I think a cardiologist’s career is more stable and secure. Hope this helps.</p>
