I also just got some No Nonsense leggings that I thought were a good weight. They are longish on me, which is a look I like sometimes.

When I dropped off my high schooler this morning, I saw a number of girls wearing tight leggings with tops that did not cover their bottoms. Last year the school made some noise about this style violating the dress code, but apparently it’s fine this year.

From those Rundholz looks, this one looks nice and snuggy.

Can you tell we’ve been getting a lot of rain the last few days?

(the charcoal grey)

Yes, nice and snuggy! I’m curious to see how I like the charcoal grey color I ordered. Black is easy, the grey may be a bit more of a challenge.

or the fact that she looks pregnant :-)

Here is an example of how NOT to wear leggings (ignore the fact that they have studs, even plain black ones would look awful if worn like this):

[City Chic Studded Leggings (Plus Size) | Nordstrom](http://m.nordstrom.com/Product/Details/3581947?origin=PredictiveSearch)

And here is a better way - bum covered:

A longer top would be even better, IMO.

Back when she was in HS, my older daughter made her own transfers for t-shirts which read “Tights are not pants!”

Same D bought the Costco leggings in the eggplant color and was wearing them with a long sweater and the cutest loden green short boots yesterday. Ah, to be 22 and thin as a rail!

I don’t like leggings that either have a pattern or studs/bling (like the ones BB linked to) no matter the weight of the wearer. They always add visual pounds.

MomLive,
Thanks for getting back to me. I am 5’4" and so that sounds just fine and I think I will get it among others I looked at too.

By the way, this is the first time I ever realized you could order online from Costco…I had no idea! (learned it from the leggings link above!)

I think you talked me into those Costco leggings. I have plenty of leggings but many of my full length ones are cotton and spandex. I have some thicker nylon capri length ones with ruching at the calf that are meant for yoga from Garnet Hill (not cheap). I see the Costco ones are also nylon and inexpensive and so I may try those as an alternative to my current leggings.

BTW, my Eddie Bauer leggings came today - I’m happy! Tried the black ones on - love how they are much different than tights in how they fit at the top. Good length. Not skin sucking tight but not baggy. Next, shopping for some stuff to wear them with - D reminded me that I have a sweater dress stored away for winter that would be perfect with them!

abasket, yes, a sweater dress is nice with leggings. I have a couple of those. Boden tends to show those in short lengths each season. I might switch from opaque tights to leggings this year with those.

Ok, I guess I will have a look at the Costco leggings when we swing by there. Any idea of how loosely or tightly they fit?

I purchased a pair of gray suede tall boots today but am not sure what color tights or leggings to wear with them? I know the rule of thumb is to either match the skirt or the boots but does anyone have a preference? Seems to me that matching the boots would elongate the leg better.

Another benefit of leggings is that not all aging legs a blemish or vein free. I have had my legs “done” twice and the varicose veins are back. In summer, they don’t always show, but when the tan fades, capri leggings are friendly to me.
And leggings are warmer in winter with socks, short boots and a long wooly sweater that covers the bulges.
Right now I am wearing ballet flats and keep a small heater under my desk to warm my ankles. Not very energy conscious, but my office is quite cold.

Funny story. I don’t think she will mind that I share this. :)

Today I had the delight to meet a fellow CC"er - and someone who has participated on this thread. We met briefly once before a few years ago and keep in touch a bit as the kids grow up and on.

We were standing in line at Starbucks. Low and behold we turn around and standing right behind us is a women - my guess in her upper 50’s - wearing LEGGINGS!!! Hahaha!

Let me tell you, this woman looked cute, classy and appropriate. She looked totally put together and NICE. Nice haircut. Black to the ankle leggings. Dark flats. A lightweight longish sweater in a marled black and white. She was kind of petite. We talked to her and told her that we had been having recent discussions on the very topic of leggings. She said she loves wearing them for the comfort and for the look.

Who would have thought?! A thread on CC coming to life in real life with two CC’ers!!! :)

That’s great, abasket! Wish you could have taken her picture for us!

It was definitely an LOL moment!!! :)

A little long, but one of the reviews mentions it’s great with leggings. This is a style I’d like:

Oh my…I’m loving all the new shopping sites!

In a fit of excess energy and spurred on by this topic I decided to attack the sock/pantyhose/leg warmer and other sundries drawer. OMG…I found a pair of Legg’s panty hose in the original package from my career girl days - which ended 15+ years ago… (in my defense…it is a very big and deep drawer). Low and behold I rediscovered several pairs of leggings which I’d shoved in there last year, including two pairs from Costco (they’re DKNY).
