To Which Schools Did Your School Valedictorian Get Accepted?

My school’s val got into all the UC’s he applied to (UCB and UCLA included) and MIT, waitlisted at Stanford and Princeton, and rejected at Yale and Caltech.

I got into UCLA, Berkeley and UCSD. Waitlisted at Caltech and Harvey Mudd.

I got into Yale Stanford Duke Rice Pomona Haverford UPitt and USD. Waitlisted Harvard WashU. Rejected Princeton.

It’s down to Yale Stanford and UPitt for me.

i wish my school was competitive… maybe then our valedictorian would have gotten into an ivy league. she’s an exchange student but her gpa was so far ahead of everyone else’s it was almost hilarious. deferred from columbia EA, then rejected from princeton, cornell, and a couple other ivies. she’s considering UCB or NWU.

past valedictorians have gone to:
2008: UCLA
2007: U of Dallas (that was my sister! full ride)
2006: Notre Dame

compared to those schools sending 10 kids to ivies every year… we got TWO kids accepted into an ivy in the last 5 years that i know of, one into cornell this year and one into princeton 5 years ago. i know ivies aren’t everything, but i use them just as a basis of comparison.

to be honest though, this year was basically a miracle in terms of “top 50” schools; several kids into the UCs, USC, ND, and WUStL, one into MIT and Cornell, one at Stanford, me into Rice and UIUC, one into NWU, one into JHU, and one into NYU

update:
val this year: berkeley, ucla, ucsd, ucd
rejected: harvard, princeton, stanford

One of our valedictorians is going to some crappy school in the midwest because her boyfriend goes there hahaha

We have 4 val’s I think.

1 will probably go to Yale since he got accepted, lol
1 is going to Stanford
Not sure about 1
And the last one is either going to Harvey Mudd or UW

our val got into upenn, northwestern, cmu and nyu…probably going to upenn~~

This year, the two valedictorians are going to UPenn.

Last year, the valedictorianS went to:
-SMU
-Duke
-Dartmouth

The year before that, the valedictorian went to BYU and the salutatorian went to Stanford.

Our valedictorian got rejected from Yale but in at Harvard and Amherst with 4.5 weighted. However a girl with a much lower GPA, though still a very good GPA, at 4.18 weighted, got into every single school she applied to, which was basically all the Ivies + Stanford, Williams and some others (13 schools in total I heard). She got into every single school no wait lists or rejections.

Before then: Mostly state U’s and local colleges
2005: State U
2006: Grinnell, and maybe Harvard, don’t know if that was a rumor though
2007: State U
2008: State U
2009: Vanderbilt, Grinnell, Claremont McKenna… Waitlisted at Duke, G’town, Washu, Colgate

For all of these years: Salutatorians went to either a state university (U of Iowa, ISU, or UNI) or a local college…and probably a few to community college…

'07: goes to Cornell
'08: goes to Williams
'09: accepted at UChicago, MIT, and Harvard.
I think that’s all she applied to, and she’s narrowed it down to Harvard or MIT. She’s the only person from our school who got into Harvard out of around 5 people, as far as I know [I’m third and I was waitlisted, as was our salutatorian] Our salutatorian got waitlisted at 2 Ivies and rejected from a third, so I don’t know what she’s going to pick from her remaining acceptances.

And he got Waitlisted by Cornell…sigh :(

This year’s valedictorian is narrowing her choices between Stanford and Yale. Last year’s val went to Princeton, 2007 val went to WFU, 2006 went to Harvard, and 2005 went to Amherst.

I am the valedictorian of my school. My top choices are Duke, Cornell or Stanford ( I have not decided yet)

Colorado School of Mines
Rice University

06’s went to Tufts
Not sure about 07
08’s went to Harvard

This years, my class, is very underachieving. Usually, at least one person from my HS goes to an IVY or a few that go to that Tufts/Georgetown/JHU/et al. level.

09:

1 is going to Messiah, I think.

2 is going to NYU

3 is going local

Anyone else see a drop-off or step-up in their grade? My class is very uncompetitive, compared to past years. (A few years back #2 went straight to administration to tell on #1, suspecting them of cheating on a test). Our top 5 is very unassuming, all great students but nothing to set them apart from the other top students in the nation.

Middlebury

07’ Went to Stanford
08’ Went to UCB
09’ (current) UCB
Current valedictorian stayed local, accepted at UCB/UCLA/UCSD/UCD and rejected from MIT, Stanford

so my school doesn’t exactly tell who the valedictorian is, but you can usually tell

2 years before went to yale
1 year before went to vanderbilt
this year i think its between 3 of us, one going to u maryland college park with full ride, one between nyu and cmu for business?, and me, between cornell and cmu
