To Which Schools Did Your School Valedictorian Get Accepted?

2010: Columbia (Fu Foundation-Engineeering)
2011: got into Upenn but going to Penn state for accelerated medical program

I am not a ■■■■■. If you look at any of my prior posts, that will become obvious to you. The Val at my school is a one of a kind student that not only gets grades, but is a great person. Some people are just extremely smart; I don’t know how he does it, but he deserves Harvard, where he has decided to go.

^Intel winner this year is a homeschooled student…

^ Didn’t say this year.

2008: MIT
2009: Yale?
2010: Brown
2011: Northwestern

2009: Harvard, Yale (matriculated), Wlliams, several others
2010: Stetson University (matriculated), Hofstra University
2011: NYU (liberal studies program), U-Miami (more than likely matriculating), Gannon U.,

Many people down here apply to the same exact schools and when I mention where I’ve been accepted, they’re like “Where is that?” or “Why are you going all the way out there?”

2009: Harvard
2010: ? No idea, but he’s attending Georgia Tech because of a scholarship
2011: Carnegie Mellon, Vanderbilt, UVA

Already posted the past few years a while back, so I’m gonna post this year’s:

Val (predicted): UPenn likely letter, Duke, Brown, UNC-CH, Emory, a few other minor ones
Sal (2 predicted): 1 is going to NC State…very bright girl, especially at math (AIME qualifier), but only applied to MIT, Brown and State…go figure. Our other potential Sal is going to NC State also, but he got the Park Scholarship.

Other notable schools: 2 more Dukes, 2 Northwesterns, 2 Cornells, 1 Johns Hopkins, 2 Davidsons, 6 Emorys, 2 Notre Dames, 4 Wake Forests, like 30 UNC-Chapel Hills (5 got in the Honors Program though), 4 UVAs, and a DEEP SPRINGS (our 3rd in 4 years).

Our school is relatively new so each incoming class is increasing in size pretty much exponentially…there are sophomores who have higher GPAs than our val does this year because they are able to take 4+ AP classes when we were only offered 1 at their age.

Not sure where else she got accepted, but she will be attending the UConn Honors College.

2010: Stanford
2011: Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, MIT

^^^nice! the val at my school got accepted to all the UCs she applied to. I don’t know if she got into any private schools yet.

2009: Dartmouth
2010: Stanford
2011: Columbia (matriculated) and Stanford

The Sal (who will most likely become the Val once this term grades go in) and had a 2370 (much high then the val) was denied from Stanford, columbia and wait listed and at the university of Chicago, his planning on attending UM

We don’t know the val yet, but there are 5 candidates, and I’m one of them. No stats, just colleges will be posted.
Candidate 1: Applied to one college (MIT) and was accepted EA. Didn’t apply anywhere else.
Candidate 2: Accepted to Princeton, MIT, and Rutgers. Rejected from HYS. Will be attending Princeton.
Candidate 3: Accepted to Princeton, MIT, CalTech, Harvard, and Rutgers. Didn’t apply anywhere else. Will be attending CalTech.
Candidate 4: Accepted to Princeton, Rutgers, and Oberlin. Rejected from HYSM. Will be attending Princeton.
Candidate 5 (Me): Accepted to HYPS, Georgetown, Rutgers… Rejected from Dartmouth and UMich. Waitlisted and then accepted to Columbia. Will be attending Yale.

Val was 1/1 at Baylor… lol.

4 got into Stanford and Cornell.

lol this thread started 6 years ago… but w/e
My school’s val got accepted to Steven’s Institute of technology…Yeah I know Not a prestigious school.
But the Sal got accepted to Harvard, First to get accepted in 50 years.
Only the second Ivy-League Acceptance to our school in 50 years; the Val of the class of '06 got accepted into Yale.

This year the best school our Val got into was UCLA (rejected from Cal, Harvard)
Last year it was UC San Diego
Year before got into a bunch of good liberal arts schools … ended up at Middlebury

Sal from this year is a tie between 2 people, I think. One will go to UC Davis, the other probably U of San Fran

The year before our sal went to UCI

Ours got into Penn and Duke. He is leaning towards Duke because of the campus and strong Pratt school.

The intel kid is going to Harvard. he has autism and is just an amazing example of how capable autistic kids can be.

I have the highest gpa in class (well at least I did until second semester senior year), and I’ll be attending Brown.

But then again my class has only 45 people so being first in class isn’t as impressive…

My school’s valedictorian got into Harvard, Yale, and Princeton

This year: Stanford, Hopkins, and UNC (in-state). Rejected/waitlisted at most Ivies/Duke/NU.
