Well this year our’s is going to a community college or something (OCC: Oklahoma Community College) =/

Valedictorian- accepted at a couple of Ivies (not sure which ones) and Notre Dame (I think…) and Carleton. She’s going to Carleton for now. If she gets off the waitlist at Harvard, then she will go there instead, so we’ll see…

Hmm my school had 4 vals. I’m going to Yale (accepted at Princeton and Harvard, which were my only two US unis I applied to, aside from Yale). Also got full + spending money scholarships from ANU, Monash, University of Melbourne, UNSW and USyd, which were all of the universities to which I applied. Apparently I’m the only student from my high school to ever get into an Ivy for undergrad (or at all?), but most apply for undergraduate law or medicine here.

The other three vals are at Monash (studying medicine on a full scholarship + spending money) or Melbourne (on similar scholarships, with guaranteed postgrad medicine or law). The sals are at ANU and Melbourne with similar scholarships.

Val going to Providence
Sal I’m not sure of
3rd is going to the Naval Academy

Val-UCF
Sal-UF
3rd-UF

I’m going to NYU-Stern (16th in class), one kid got into UPenn for basketball (top 50, I’m guessing?) and the only other out-of-state acceptances are Navy (baseball scholarship), BU (kid had a 3.3 gpa, but 1550/1600 SAT), and Barnard ( 15th? in class turned down for UF)

Magnet programs and county-wide school districts destroy local programs.

I think all of our top students were rejected by some Ivies and MIT. but our valedictorian is attending NC chapel hill full tuition I think…

My valedictorian is going to Cornell with a scholarship.

Our valedictorians over the years –

2011: State flagship
2010: Local state university
2009: Vanderbilt
2008: Georgetown

I am not sure if he is the official valedictorian, but he got into Princeton.

Valedictorian got into Brown, Duke, Northwestern, McGill, and Notre Dame among others. Is going to Duke next year.

Sal. applied but didn’t get into Stanford or MIT unfortunately, and had to choose Purdue over UC Berkeley due to money concerns.

Other top schools our class has people going to include: UChicago, Notre Dame (2), Boston College, and Wake Forest.

The valedictorian in my school is going to Montclair…Yeah if you don’t live in NJ, you’ve probably never heard of it…Average SAT score is like 1500/2400…Yeah it’s sort of sad.

The Sal is going to Steven’s Institute of Technology. Not much better…
Least ambitious school ever combined with least ambitious Graduating class ever.

Stanford
Stanford
Berkley
UCDavis

There are 15 vals and everyone is staying in state. That is where they are attending, not necessarily where they got in. There are 5 sals.

1 - Vanderbilt

2 - Rice

3 - Cornell

1 RPI

2 Penn State

3 Ithaca?

Val: Harvard (legacy), Notre Dame, BC, others
Sal (me!): Williams (attending), Midd, Wes, Reed, Hamilton, some others.

Val: Georgetown (attending), UPenn, Johns Hopkins

Ours is going to UPenn (Wharton) but was accepted at every school he applied to. That included Harvard, MIT, Caltech, Cornell, Yale and Stanford. Our Salutatorian is going to Carnegie Mellon which was the only place he applied, besides his safety.

Val at Son’s school is going to Harvard…recently accepted off the waitlist and changed from Middlebury

Sal is going to Duke

Current year:

Val: UVA
Sal: Columbia
3rd: BYU
4th: Princeton

Somewhere in the top 20: Yale
