TOEFL Gold Certificate

Hey!!!

This past October, I appeared for the TOEFL iBT an secured a 114 on 120. Shortly thereafter, I received an email from the guys at ETS about the TOEFL Gold Certificate scheme. Being from India, a country of certificate eligiblity, I can avail the scheme.

The Common App allows us to dissect our achievments into ‘School’, ‘Regional’, ‘National’ and ‘International’ categories. So, would this certificate count as an international achievment considering the fact that the TOEFL is after all an international exam?

Thanks in advance for lending a happening a helping hand!!!

Harvard17

It should count as international, but as unis like Stanford require a minimum of 113 in the iBT, I don’t think it counts for too much, TBH.

Thanks arronie!!! But according to my research that I have done over the internet, Stanford has a TOEFL score cut off of 100 just like Yale.

Anyone else for help???

I’d say go for SAT 1, score 2150 on that. I don’t think its worth spending idk how many dollars to get that gold certificate.

hey omg! that’s rly cool…i had a 117/120 on the Ibt when i took it in 2007/ i didnt’ get any gold certi email!!! :frowning: maybe it’s a new scheme. can u tell me more about it?

thanks :)
