<p>Just to somewhat repeat what I said on the MT forum, be careful in saying “No Training.” “No College” or “???” might actually be more appropriate unless you can find a bio that specifically states it. Even then, it’s often a conceit. Much more often than not, you’d find that they trained in New York, LA, or Chicago studios and/or with private coaches if you saw their actual resumes. Online bios can often be misleading for a variety of reasons … </p>

<p>Also, Sutton Foster dropped out of CMU after freshman year when they apparently told her she’d never be anything but a chorus girl. I’d like to hear the other side of that story, but go figure … LOL I can’t swear to it, but I believe I read or heard somewhere that she studied acting with Uta Hagen at HB Studio after that. Singing and dance? Who knows?</p>

<p>Agree with fishbowl that just because a person doesn’t list a college on the playbill bio doesn’t mean: !) they didn’t go to college; 2) they didn’t train with classes or coaches. </p>

<p>Also, if one is tallying which has the most…it is not accurate to say that “no training” has the “most tallies” because that would just be comparing that tally to an individual college like CMU. Rather, a better comparison is that there are more tallies for those with a college than those with no college listed. If one were to draw a conclusion, it would be that the odds favor having training, even though there are other paths to “making it.”</p>
