<p>a post on dean J’s blog says that poster’s son was a jefferson scholar semi-finalist but was WAITLISTED by UVA!!</p>

<p>now how do you explain that without resorting to the yield theory?</p>

<p>and check this out. another jefferson scholar finalist:

I was a a regional finalist for jefferson scholars, have maintained a 4.1 GPA, and am actively involved in 2 sports and 3 clubs, I also attend a specialized school for science and mathematics. My world came crashing down when I found out I was waitlisted.I am one of the only ones from my school who was waitlisted.
