Too late to pull up rank?

I’m a junior right now and the highest rank i can get at the end of the year is probably 5 or 6. Will this be the final rank that colleges will use for decisions?

Does the rank at the end of 1st semester of senior year affect decision?, since I know i can get rank 1 or 2 by then (how much is the difference between rank 1 and 6 anyway?)

I’d say there isn’t much of a difference between 5 or 6 and 1 or 2 unless you go to school with super small classes. Otherwise, you’d be fine since you’d still be in the top 5% (once again, unless your class is under 100 people). And I think the 5 or 6 would be what you use for your apps unless your decision gets postponed for obtaining new stats.

^yeah my class is pretty big, like 500+ people. I searched some schools and realized that there is a significant difference between being rank 1 and rank 6.

UPenn for example, admits 45.1% of valedictorians, 34% of salutatorians, and 17.7% of other top5%er’s.
