haha… closest I got was 119… but otherwise not

What a ridiculous ranking methodology, it says nothing about the quality of the school!

yes… you should write them a letter

yeah a lot of schools just force students to take the tests to create high ratios for surveys like this. it says nothing about the school except they are test-happy!

Yup, I attend Wootton High. #17 haha.

And Richard Montgomery is near by, #11

that’s awesome… I wish I were #3 in my class in a school that made this list

haha this IS ridiculous. AP test TAKEN by everyone and # of graduating seniors??
To get a great score-
fail all but one person as the juniors rise to be seniors so there will be twice as many juniors and only 1 senior. Require everyone to take 10 AP exams even if they fail all of them. A school with let’s say 3000 students will get a score of 30,000.
And there you go! The BEST school in the nation!!!

Haha, it is true that the ranking method is completely bogus, but hey, I do believe most of these schools are truly the top schools in the nation :P. Well, my school at least :D.

Not here, but number 212! Wooooooooooooo!

i don’t like jay matthews

Thats crazy… are there even 10 AP tests?

I am taking the most at my school… and thats 7… wow… God Bless Suburbia and their mediocre public schools systems…

lol his ranking sucks.
basically says really nothing.
mine is 129 mclean high school. Not surprised since my high school really sucks academically IMO

that’s weird. Where’s Phillips and Boston Latin?

So many in the top 15 are from florida!? heh

I’ve seen this list before and can verify that at least one Silicon Valley hs on the list had no business whatsoever being on any top list! In fact, the school has a relative high dropout rate and low graduation rate.

the most bogus ranking methodology ever. A less crappy method would have been to use the average grades on AP/IB tests.

lol i dont think we are even on the list of a thousand. actually, i think we may be 600 something, but im not sure. oh well. who cares.

purrli… yeah good call.
where is Boston Latin?!?!?!?!

AP/IB courses is not a measure of a good school. I notice a large amount of schools in Texas and other southern states in this top 100 - not typically known as great schools. And Belmont HS in Mass is not the best HS in the state.
This is a really specious methodology for ranking high schools.
