I have a 4.46 (weighted) and I’m near the bottom edge of the top 5%. I’m just curious: what is the minimum GPA for the top 5% (or something similar) at other schools/your school?
Because weighting systems vary between schools any comparison would be meaningless.
It sounds like you are in a highly competitive school. If this GPA is on a scale of 5.0 then yes, it’s a norm for schools of similar calibure but very high for most schools. On positive side, you can stand on your own in any good college with more ease than valedictorians and salutatorians of most schools.
If it’s on GPA scale of 5.5 or high then it’s just average.
My school is on a 4.0 scale with no honors and limited AP. An average top 5% student is ~3.7-3.8. I don’t think it’s mathamatically possible to get anything higher than a 4.2
