Yeah, NJ is just a superior state, no joke. We easily have the best pizza, bagels, tomatoes, and so much more. Oh, and how could I forget those good old 24 hour a day diners. Plus education is top notch when compared to other states, and if I remember correctly, NJ has the highest graduation rate out of the 50 states and DC, but yeah. Also NJ does not smell, granted if your on the turnpike or the garden state parkway I would say otherwise, but really the scenery is quite beautiful, so yeah. And definitely, let’s see what colleges think of a NJ applicant :D

Well, maybe it smells in North Jersey… :p

Agreed.

My area of South Jersey is connected to Philadelphia via a 20 min. ride on the subway so it’s like the best of both suburban and urban worlds.

Tony you must admit that Massachusetts is superior to Jersey. education-wise. and webhave Boston. and we have places like Cape Cod and other vacation spots :]

wow. 82nd? what kind of ranking is this? i think many people would agree that my school is better than at least half of the top 50.

haha i’m from north central… and… i don’t think it smells? i’m a 40 minute train ride from NYC… 45 min by car to Princeton… (ummmm i <3 princeton) and an hr and a half to philly if turnpike is traffic-y but not bumper to bumper. although currently i might not like the east coast b/c of ernesto… i <3 NJ. :D

i’m not from bergen county… but doesn’t bergen supposedly have the best schools?

Mine is 65th and I’m very suprised we’re that high. We were a failing school like just a year ago, but I know we made it this year

Yeah, Bergen County is crazy rich and has some of the best schools in the state.

I <3 Princeton, too. Luckily I’m less than a 1-minute car ride away :p. And about 45 minutes to Philly and an hour to NYC.

As long as I live in Jersey, I’ll never pump my own gas.

By the way, High Tech is a public magnet school.

I love how almost everyone at the top public schools will leave the state for college.

I’m from NW Jersey, and I have to say, anyone who’s anti-Jersey is probably just stuck on the stereotype. There are plenty of reasons to hate Jersey, but not because we smell (gee maybe because of the coal plants in PA) or because of our low education (then why is my PSAT score NMSF in almost every other state, but not here?).
New Jersey is a blend of urban areas (NYC, Newark, Jersey City), vacation spots (LBI, Atlantic City), suburbs (almost all of northern Jersey), and rural communities (Warren and Sussex counties).
Saying that all of New Jersey is dirty, or all of New Jersey smells, or all of New Jersey is stupid is just ignorant. There’s such a variety of places and people that painting a label on the whole state is impossible. The only exception to this rule is that New Jersey has the best diners in the country, and we have at least one in every town. Oh, and our pizza kicks ass.

Last year NJ was tied for the highest PSAT NMSF cutoff. :(

And yeah, about the factories - NJ actually has stricter regulations on factory emissions than most other states. It’s the fault of states like Ohio and Pennsylvania that our air is only getting worse.

My high school does not have CEILINGS( not kidding) and we had a bomb/anthrax threat on september 11 and we have a temporary superattendant who is paid $600 a day, and we have been “under construction” for 4 years, howver, we stiil make it out to number 34 !!! SHAZAM!!!

woo go michigan

27 here,i personally think my school should be way higher(in the top 20’s atleast)

whoooo, 52

2 here! (10 char)

My school just got a flood day.

WE WERE IN SCHOOL AND WATER CAME INTO THE CLASSROOMS. ITS WAS NEW ORLEANS UP IN HERE!

I <3 public school!

You were in school on a Saturday?
