Top Chef (Texas) and/or Next Iron Chef....

I really don’t like Bev; I wanted Naesha (sorry if I spelled it wrong) or Grayson to beat her. My guess is that the LCK was rigged for Bev to come back just for the dramatic effect.

I’m rooting for Paul or Lindsey. I like them both.

I strongly suspect rigging as well. There was that moment against Nyesha in the LCK when Tom asked everyone who they would bet for and no one chose Bev. A funny look in his eye and I knew she would have the edge. Sure enough, she’s in the final bringing all sorts of drama with her.

Still watching, but for awhile there, I liked Last Chance Kitchen better.

With regard to the weather, I have never seen Vancouver look like that! Someone on another forum said it’s probably Whistler.

Trying to get e res at Nyeshas restaurant ( Wilshire) for sons Family Day next week.

Anyone watch tonight?

I watched it last night. The challenges were wild, especially the one in the gondola.

I am glad Bev is gone, I swear if I had to see her Congrats you won letter on the mirror one more time I was going to scream.

Plus, on every episode she cries. I think it was Ed who said there is no crying in cooking!

I read somewhere a long time ago a little blurb on the rolling credits, It was one of the 1st seasons. It stated that producers had a voice in the elimination process, so in other words it is not all up to the judges. Bev was kept because she was the problem among the other chefs.

IMPO Ed was probably cut because Bev would have made better ratings. Same with Naesha on Last Chance. They would not have disrupted the kitchen.

The thing that got me with last nights episode was Bev is not as stupid as she pretends, she is an accomplished chef, she knew there was an outlet at her station, but placed the blender at Sarah’s to disrupt her flow. It is a contest, I get that, but if you have to resort to that level it tells me you didn’t think you could win unless you did some type of sabotage to your rival.

I hope Paul wins. Lindsay grates on my nerves. Sarah just does the same old same old. Paul is the nice guy who helps everyone, he also switches it up with his menus.

I, too, was relieved Bev was gone, her crying & lack of confidence annoyed me. I would have preferred to see Ed be part of the group vying for the finale last night.

I don’t think Bev had a lack of self-confidence. I think others perceived as her having a weak personality, though. Three of the other women chefs seemed to resent her and were a bit unfair to her, imo, possibly even bullying her. I find it interesting that over various seasons, certain chefs have gotten a bad rap from some of their castmates, such as Marcel, Hung and now Bev. These chefs were possibly a bit “different” personality wise, but very good chefs. I think being different and a threat can cause some animosity from other chefs on this show. It comes off as sour grapes, imo.

Sarch even complained that she thought Bev had more rounds when shooting the targets. It was amusing, to say the least.

I know a lot has to do with editing, but honestly, tell me 1 episode where she didn’t cry.

That is a lack of confidence.

I agree Sarah was a spoiled brat with the shot issue. C’mon let’s be real, this is one of Bravo’s top shows and they are going to risk the show for this?

However, if you believe Bev is a great chef, tell me why she used Sarah’s outlet for her blender, and how all season long this is something she does over and over again!

Bev constantly used other competitors work space, and than did the innocent OOPS!

Bev is not as sweet and naive as she portrays, and I think that is why even ED, and PAUL who were the nice guys hated the fact she came back.

Is she a great Chef? Hell Yes! Did she play it like a competition and had a strategy? Hell yes!

Her true problem is now image. These chefs, win or lose gain notoriety, and career opportunities. Carla is on the Chew. Bryan and Michael are selling LG appliances. Fabio is a spokesperson for Domino pizza.

Sarah, Lindsay and her do not connect with the public. Ed and Paul do! Even if they go back to their careers as executive chefs, Bev’s restaurant will not get an increase like Ed and Paul.

20 will get you 30 right now, Ed has had many more job offers than Bev. The restaurant world is cut throat, and her tears every episode will not get her an offer from Hugh Acheson or Rick Bayless. (Top Chef Masters).

Also if you look at the mentor episode, her mentor was not renown. It was a small restaurant. Lindsay’s was Michelle Bernstein. Sarah’s mentor was Tony Mantuano, a Top Chef MASTER’s competitor.

I wanted Sarah OUT!!! I’d have been happiest if Naesha had been the one to do it, not Bev. Hoping Paul wins, and would have loved to see Ed second. I think Lindsay gets more chances because of Michele, her mentor.
Honestly, I wish they had been cooking, not skiing and shooting and riding high (from someone scared of heights).

^^ I believe Bev said she had been in an abusive relationship in the past. I think she could have perceived that others were resentful of her for whatever reason. Crying does not bother me one way or the other. I mean, I would feel compassion for someone who was crying, other that that, it’s a non-issue.

As for the outlet, it is very possible, even probable, that that outlet was the first one Bev saw and being a timed competition, the one she went for. Equal, if not more so, possibility that was the case, imo.

Bev may get underdog appeal. She was already on Bravo’s late night show as the guest bartender. People typically love an underdog. She came in 4th place and deserved it. Not bad! Have to have confidence and the goods to do that.

Ridiculous, and not in a good way. Top Chef Survivor. Where is the cooking?

Can someone explain what chopping your ingredients out of a block of ice, cross country skiing, and rifle-shooting has to do with how good a cook you are? Do these situations crop up when you work at a restaurant?

What would they have done if one (or both!) of them had missed every target? Or sprained an ankle while skiing? Or stabbed themselves while frantically chopping ice? Ludicrous.

This show has jumped the shark.

I agree, getting too wild. I was uncomfortable when Paul , the last man left(and I really like him) had to end up helping the 2 women break open the ice. Shouldn’t come down to stuff like that and I would bet he doesn’t want to be winning in those kinds of ways either(being the only one that could break the ice fairly easily). Was sorry to see Ed go.

I believe he said he didn’t want to win because of ice.

Paul for the win! Best cook, personality and best past performances/wins! And seems like a great guy to boot!
I cannot stand Sarah. Yes Sarah, the producers gave bev more shots than you. (sarcasm). I can deal with a Lindsay win , but cannot stand Sarah’s personality, IMO lack of maturity.
Anyone have any idea how much $$$ Paul has racked up?

I think Paul won @20K and of course the Prius.

“This show has jumped the shark.”

Ha Ha. I think you’re right. I hope Paul wins, too. Would not want to see Lindsay or Sarah win.

“I think Paul won @20K and of course the Prius.”

Hasn’t he won a LOT? Here’s the scorecard

And the one with PeeWee Herman? That was just an embarrassment.

Even the stars looked uncomfortable in that one.
