Trader Joe's Top 10

Oh, but dark chocolate is so very healthy. I of course only consume it for it’s antioxidents.

Momof60,

I almost swooned when I read that you CAME OUT OF TJS WITH THE ONE BAG OF ITEMS YOU WENT IN FOR…how is that possible?? Do you live in a parallel universe? Are you an alien from a superior world?? Is this a dream your are describing?? The shock of your statement gave me chest pains and shortness of breath. I could not focus my eyes for long minutes…

Please. Don’t. Lie. To. Us.

Ok, 4th trip to TJs after the first time I read this thread and became informed:

Joe-Joes are BETTER THAN OREOs and I never thought I’d say that.

The (frozen) Roasted Vegetables in Balsamic Butter Sauce are SUPER wonderful. Can be a base for anything. I added a package of the Beluga lentils (also totally yum) and everyone loved it. It would be fierce cold, too, with the piquancy of the Balsamic.

Had the Laceys for the first time. Almond sold out, got the macadamia nut ones–so so good.

LOVE the Latin Black Bean Soup (in the box). A bit of chipotle zing. Good enough to DRINK cold. I want to try to duplicate this. It was so smooth and silky. Maybe between my blender and food processor, I could do it.

Tried the Sparkling Blood Orange Soda–it was OK, but not enough so to get again.

Unlike many others, I was not thrilled with the Molten Lava Cakes. I’ve had better. They tasted kind of salty??

The little mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches were good and the little bon bon ice cream bites with the cookie in it were OK also. I won’t get again, probably.

Had the frozen gnocchi with sauce. It was OK. But, then, my from-Italy MIL made home-made gnocchis, which spoiled me for life…

TJs is really fun to shop at, now.

I wish I lived somewhere that would allow Two Buck Chuck…

The Kettle Korn was OK, but not addicting, I prob. won’t get again.

I roasted the frozen french green beans and they were delicious. Beautiful green beans, frozen when just perfect size.

You guys have done it again! I’m heading to TJs today. Roasted vegetables in balsalmic butter on the top of my list Also getting the shrimp in the split shell for dinner for tomorrow. Kettle corn is a favorite for me. The green beans and lentils are also on the list. One of the perks of having just the 2 kids at home is that I can shop TJs now. When the whole family is here, it’s Costco for me.

dsc6, I too could come out of TJ’s with one bag - if I could stop in every other day! I envy the people that have a TJ’s so close that it’s not a special trip to go to one.

While I love the sauces, some of my favorite items are very basic things that are cheaper or a combination of ingredients that I think are just perfect. For instance, I love the golden berry blend - dried cherries, cranberries, blueberries and raisins. I add this to my oatmeal in the winter and then into yogurt in the summer. My daughter loves the mini whole wheat pita pockets and the original TJ’s hummus. I also always pick up a bag of the 50% less salt almonds. Perfect little crunchy snack.

OK, I live less than 5 minutes away from a TJs and I go there often. Sometimes just for one or two items. Now, what I always walk out with is a full bag or two. Can’t help it. Just love that place.

Tried the Chicken Lime Burgers and they’re good - served on a bun with salsa and avocado. It said I needed to defrost them, but I just threw them in a microwave and then quickly pan fried. Only 150 calories each!

I just love their cookies and candies but have stopped buying them so I can fit in my clothes. No budget for new ones right now and it’s always depressing to go up a size.

I’m on an avocado kick and buy the netted bags from TJs. Put them on sandwiches, use them in salads, make quick guacamole. I know they’re pretty high in calories but really good for you and fine in small doses.

Been buying their pork tenderloins too. Cheap and very good. But i wish they offered organic pork - like they do with chicken. I would pay more if they offered it…

The bag of garlic chicken went over big with my kids. I like the Chicken Lime Burgers and the Indian spice burgers too (can’t remember the exact name but they are non meat). I am on a diet right now too. Need to lose 20 lbs ideally. Two lbs down and 18 to go.

Agree that those balsamic frozen veggies are wonderful. I got them after trying a sample a few weeks ago, served on top of mashed potatoes. Mmmmm.

Daffodils at $1.29 a bunch are in. Cheapest day-brightener ever.

I have come out of TJ’s with one item. That’s because there is one located right near work, right on the way to the freeway, so it is easy to stop in.

Tjs is now a weekly trip. My latest favorite: the White Bean Hummus. I also got the Italian White Bean Hummus. The were delicious. Better than chickpea hummus. I couldn’t stop eating them.

Frozen enchiladas. That’s it.

Recently they were sampling:

whole wheat couscous cooked in low sodium vegetable broth (instead of water) and added in raisins near the end of cooking time (to plump) and roasted slivered almonds. Delicious!!!

I’ve been using the vegetable broth instead of chicken stock in soups, etc. It is so good and rich! A must-try item!!!

Tried the TJ’s gnocchi (mixed in pesto and beans) the other night - to die for!!

Also - those windmill cookies are sinful, I am loading up on the next run…

Went to Trader Joe’s today hungry. Picked up a bag of the fresh molasses cookies. I ate 3 before I pulled out of the parking lot!

So happy with the direction that this thread is headed. Glad I’m not the only one who indulges in sin whenever I get to TJ’s.

Since I’m sinning I also grab a bag of reduced guilt potato chips to make up for it.

I got the dried and salted green beans for my parking lot snack. They were pretty good!

We have one only a few miles away, but I do stock up on:
Sunflower Seed butter (daughter has a peanut allergy)
Frozen/salted edamame
Lemon verbena soap
Green cleaning spray – forget the name, but I buy it by the case. Nothing cleans my granite like it!!
Unfiltered cranberry juice
Dubliner cheddar cheese
Green salsa and the corn salsa (both tomato free – another allergy in the house)
Flax seed tortilla chips
Frozen avacado if they have it (rare)
Greek yogurt

Love TJ’s

How could I forget the frozen green beans. I saute a tiny shallot and garlic in olive oil, toss in the bag of bean, salt and pepper and every single person I have ever served them too tell me…“I don’t usually LIKE beans, but…”

Buy 'em, make 'em and sit back and drink in the praise!

harvardmum, please take a look at the label on your green cleaning spray. I’ve been searching for something that’s safe yet effective on granite. Thank you.

I’ve always enjoyed Two-Buck Chuck, even though it’s now, what? Four-Buck Chuck? It’s not always the best wine, but it’s hard to beat for the price. It’s no better a deal than some boxed wines, but wine out of a bottle just seems more…right, somehow.
